I thought in 2003-2004 that I I've had Aspergers in the age of 15-22.
I didn't use ChristianForums since the end of the 00's and now when I return 2011 I can add: no I did not have anything such and I was never tested properly. What I have is more like agorafobia and just recently a month ago discovered analphabetism which makes it harder for me than for others to write (but I can read easily), and 2 months ago doctor discovered that I am epileptic

A very good friend of mine's son has been diagnosed with aspergers and she tried a variety of methods and meds to help control some of the behaviors related to this syndrome. That is, until she discovered this diet called the Caesium and Gluten free diet. Apparently, most of the foods we eat contain caesium and gluten, which has an affect on children who have autism and aspergers. Eliminating these ingredients from your child's diet will apparently help to alleviate some of his behaviors. My friend has had to completely change her son's diet and it has done wonders for him! He is a completely different child. Look it up on the net, ask your pcp or go to your local bookstore. My friend went to Barnes and Noble and bought the Caesium and Gluten free diet book (can't remember the title); this book had chockful of information on this particular diet. I'll ask her for more information and post once I talk with her. Will keep you and your son in prayer.

That's wonderful advice. I've had some experience working with kids with Aspergers and Autism. Diet will do wonders.

Regardless, I will keep you and your son in my prayers.

I can testify that the Gluten free diets definately make a difference. I work with kids in a school as a physical therapist and have seen the effects first hand. How old is your son? Why will it be so long until he sees the school psychologist...is he in early childhood?

Edited to add: Make sure to talk to the pediatrician prior to starting him on any new/altered diet. Certain diets can alter effectiveness of meds or may not be appropriate for your son depending on any other health issues we (the internet audience) may not know about.

Hi!

My 15 year old son has Asperger's syndrome ( or Aberger as he likes to call it.)
Firstly, a lot of problems mimic it, so it might not be that. I know it seems a long time to wait, but psychologists (sadly) are in short supply- but the best people (along with speech therapists) to help assess what the problem is.
Once they identify the problems and also the strengths of your son, they'll be able to work with you and the school to help him.
The website of the National Autistic Society has some info on Asperger's syndrome you might find useful:
www.nas.org.uk
In the meantime, I'll keep you in my prayers

Thank you Cat and everyone who gave me encoragement and advice.
Saw the physcologist and she has told me that the only problem that he has is with language and comprehension.Which he will have to see a speech therapist for once one is in the area.
But he doesnt have aspergers at all. Praise God!!!!!

God Bless

Great news! Before I read the conclusion in your last post, I was just gonna recommend you get more than one opinion if what you hear doesn't match up with your experience. You are the mother, and nobody knows your child better than you! Bless you, and all the best to you and your family.
