The article seems to include Alaska (for some reason):
OP LINK said:
United States District Court Judge John W. Broomes issued a ruling that blocks enforcement of the regulation in every school and college in Kansas, Alaska, Utah, and Wyoming.

Alaska isn’t in the Tenth Circuit, but the Ninth.
(I suspect this may be amended when the error is realized, but how it got past an editor baffles.)

(Upon reading the ruling, this fact (Alaska) is the tru-tru.)

What legal principle is a district court judge using to enforce an injunction in the parts of the circuit outside their district?

(From the article) “[The regulation] means girls will be forced to undress in locker rooms and share hotel rooms with boys on overnight school trips, teachers and students will have to refrain from speaking truthfully about biological sex, and girls will lose their right to fair competition in sports,” Rouleau said. “The court was right to halt the administration’s illegal efforts to rewrite Title IX while this critical lawsuit continues.”

The insanity continues in the Biden administration.

This is one of the reasons why I do not want to have kids, cos I do not want my daughter to have to go to the bathroom with guys or deal with this trans nonsense. Other reasons why I do not want kids include having my hypothetical offspring grow up during climate change and heatwaves, and the possibility of Russia nuking the world.

There's always been a 'doomsday' prophecy floating around about the end of the world. It's in God's hands, trust Him. And the political and social situations swing back and forth between nonsense and rational thinking. I'm hoping it swings back to rational thinking soon. But, I understand what you're saying--it can be a rough world out there.

I tell you what, the people on this forum are the some of the most gender-obsessed people I think I have ever met. Every other day somebody is in a tizzy about if somebody’s presenting themselves in a way consistent with how one thinks they should present themselves given the reproductive system they have. Holy smokes.

Yeah. At least God gave me freedom not to have kids. I'd rather focus on God only.

I'm a widow and I'm probably going to remain single. My life is better when centered on God.

I’m telling those who are single and widows that it’s good for them to stay single like me. (1 Corinthians 7:8)

Amen to that. It is better to remain single, at least for me. Here is the verse below.

1 Corinthians 7:8-9 (NIV): "Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."

Having read the ruling itself, it’s a solid piece of judicial restraint (and topical, in that it references a SCOTUS decision of last week!), the crux of the issue was that the Department of Education required schools to comply with the Final Rule against discrimination on the basis of a person’s “gender identity“ without actually taking the trouble to define the term.

In essence, the court seems to say (without saying it), that the DOE cannot simply take into account past rulings from courts (notably SCOTUS) and wedge in new rules without doing due diligence…and even if that had been done, the Final Rule would have butted up against the “plain language” of Title IX itself.

Title IX would have to be rewritten to accommodate the new proposed Final Rule, which would require Congress to act, and that ain’t gonna happen.

I tell you what.

Some of us have important girls and women in our life and get VERY DEFENSIVE when men want to invade their personal space.

It’s not an obsession. It’s about safety.

I’m fine with people living as they want. That’s their right. It’s none of my business, anyway.

Once they overstep other peoples rights and boundaries, that’s where I say ENOUGH.

Simple.

I’m only praying Christ returns soon and the Holy Spirit will clean up the mess we are in. I trust in God and his mercy.

One of my issues with "gender identity" is that it's "fluid". Are we supposed ask every day to see what the "correct pronouns" are?
Some people say yes.

I knew a man who used to be transgendered, was married, got divorced, and now is back to being a man again.

I guess you can change it like you can change your clothes, eh?

The implication being that I have no important women or girls in my life and thus I don’t care, I guess?

I don’t know what you do in bathrooms or locker rooms, but when I’m in one or the other, the person in the stall next to me could be a woman, man, or aardvark and I would neither notice or care. I tend to be focused on my own self and my reason for being there vs playing a game of “whose sex organs don’t match the gender I assume they must be?”

I promise you, you’ve shared a bathroom with a trans person and had no clue. Most trans people don’t walk into the bathroom and scream “hey I’m trans!” They walk in, do their business, and leave, all without fuss or fanfare or even really standing out. Men survived the “but what I’m sharing a locker room with a gay guy and they see me naked?!” panic of 1975-2000, women will persevere though the “what is the person in the stall next to me packing?” panic of 2023-2024.

Seriously, it will be ok.
