I really liked Joseph. I saw it on tour and the filmed version with Donny Osmond. I thought it was a very cute retelling of the Old Testament and fairly consistent with the biblical text it is taken from. It's a simple score and drama, easily done by kids as well as adults (indeed Lloyd Webber originally wrote it for a grammar school to perform). The music is very of its time period (70's) and mimics several styles--Elvis rock and roll, disco, country western and reggae. It's a great way to turn kids on to Bible stories and musical theater.

i love the movie. i first saw it in fifth grade. at that time i didn't know it was in the Old testament. now, i still love it. the songs r great, and i thought donny osmond was cute in a wig, except i didn't know it was a wig back then. lol. i've matured since then.

I really liked it. In my opinion it gives a pretty good representation of what Joseph went through to get where he did and the faith he sustained through the whole thing. In a artistic view It was fantastic. The different themed songed to tell different parts of the story was great and Pharoah as Elvis was awesome.

I thought it was excellent and for the most part still respectable to the actual story of Jesus. The only thing that stood out as wrong in my mind was a line in the song "Go Go Joseph" that says something about having a little bit of luck and going a long way, or something to that affect.
