hmm..did joe played beethoven's 5th? there seems to be a couple of tracks falsely attributed to him like mission impossible and formula 1. I'm not saying he never played and recorded the 5th, but i've not seen the song title in the albums before so i'm abit skeptical. Check this out.

I understand your skepticism. I've not heard much of Joe's playing, so I couldnt make a judgement. And I do know that a lot of times on Napster and Kazaa songs are attributed to the wrong artist. The biggest one I know of is the cover of "Gin and Juice" by The Gourds. Everywhere you go its labeled as Phish. Not true. If you know Phish you know its not them. Same with another song called "Marijuana." I've also seen other misnomers, so it wouldnt surprise me if Joe did not play Beethovens 5th. But either way its a cool song .

Oooh, I love Joe Satriani! He is absolutely amazing, that's for sure. Sadly, I am not overly familiar with his more recent stuff, but I'm definitely an old-school Satriani lover. I don't know if I like Surfing With The Alien or Flying In A Blue Dream better, but my favorite songs are Surfing With The Alien and The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing. Oh, heck, they're all good on both releases.

I've heard he is amazing. Is it true that he was the teacher of John Petrucci, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson? Someone told me this. What a legacy!

Steve Vai for sure, not sure about Petrucci, but definitely not Eric Johnson (who, by the way I like a little better, and not just because I got to talk to him after a show once ).

grr..u just had to say that did you..hahhaa...anyway eric is good too. I don't particularly like his songs as they seem more "out of this world", especially those in his venus isle album. Perhaps it's the fun that is in more of joe's songs that attracts me..
