Oh Thank You, that hair took work every morning. I also had the earth shoes and bell bottom pants. Fortunately I was a Christian and wasn't into the Disco music, but heavy into Petra who started out a few years earlier, Amy Grant, DeGarmo and Key, Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, Sandi Patty, and Randy Stonehill. I even had my own Pet Rock.

My hair took at least an hour each morning before school from what i remember with a lot of hairspray. I live my entire live just North of Philadelphia, Pa. until this past Summer when I took a Principal's job at a school in the Northwest part of Vermont. I haven't even been living in Vermont for a year yet. It is beautiful here though and I love my school and job.

Haha yes my mom told me tales of the hairspray...

It IS beautiful up here...probably the most beautiful state in the whole country. The winters are a bit rough but even they are beautiful.

It is beautiful in Vermont I must say. Today was very cold here. This morning when I woke up it was only 10 degrees.

Haha I still have to share with kids what a record (vinyl) was and even about cassette tapes.

Us guys didn't use hair spray we used 'Brylcream' to grease it all down..... Cool

Yes it is pretty cold here right at the moment. I just checked and on my back porch it says it is 10 degrees right now.

Both my kids are grown now, but had no clue what a vinyl record was and cassette tape either. They were definitely the CD generation and now their kids and my grandkids are more the iPod and MP3 player generation.

I remember the commercial for Brylcream. I believe it said a little dab will do ya.

I grew up with cassettes...definitely know what they are! And my grandparents had the vinyl records and record players so I have actually witnessed such things in real life! I have an appreciation for past generations of stuff. There is something different about it, compared to the stuff that is coming out now. When new technology comes out now, everyone thinks it is cool (or unnecessary) but it's not as exciting or timeless as some of the things that were around in the yesteryears.

Well, I would stay and chat, but there's a big ol' spider a few posts up. I chat on my computer while in bed, and I am afraid it will get in my covers. I'd simply die. Usually, spiders don't bother me that much, but in my covers? I don't think so. Imagine that thing crawling into your mouth or up your nose while you're sleeping. I just can't handle that. I'll be back when this thread turns the page -- then, I'll feel a little safer.

I think.

Since I am awake with some insomnia I thought to post a few more Throwback pictures. These are Throwback Tuesday circa 1980 in my Sophomore Year at Temple University with my roommate. Notice the huge earrings and gaudy jewelry. This was just the beginning of the 80's. I don't think I had turned 20 yet. I am the one on the left.
