Name: Jack “Rex” Nile
Race: Humanity
Age: 32
Height : 173 cm (5’8”)
Weight: 68 Kg (150 pounds)
Equipment (if any): High-energy pulse rifle and a low-energy pulse pistol.
General Appearance: Not a particularly large man, Jack still exudes an aura of strength about him. His body is leanly muscled and of average build. His eyes are framed by heavy brows and mismatched, the left being the normal green that he had been born with while the right is a light blue having resulted from a military augmentation. His hair is a dirty blonde, reflecting a golden hue whenever hit by natural light, and appearing as a light-brown in artificial light. His face is narrow and has a hollow look to it, the shadows on his face being especially pronounced. He has a hooked nose that is slightly off-center, hinting at a past break. The ring and middle finger of his left hand having been lost in a long past accident they have been replaced by highly advanced prosthetics, the tendons consisting of tensile steel with microscopic cables running to his nerves. Due to his profession Jack’s apparel tends to be for practical than fashionable. He wears a pair of dark gray cargo pants, belted tightly at the waist, with the legs tucked into black combat boots. He wears a white, sleeveless shirt tucked into his cargo pants over which he wears a light brown overcoat.
Bio: Son of Edward “Dart” Nile, Jack was more than used to his father’s absence as he was raised by his mother back on the airborne cities of the Venus colony. With little parental supervision he grew to be a trouble around his neighborhood, staying around with a less than upstanding people. It was with these “friends” that he learned some of the more nefarious skills of his current occupation.

However, after Jack’s father returned from his five years of absence, thirteen year old Jack was quickly brought back to the straight and narrow of the law. Listening to his father’s stories of his adventures in the vast reaches of the galaxy, Jack became interested in space travel and some of the more military aspects of it. His father taught him how to use some of the more available low-energy pulse weapons, the high-energy weaponry being strictly military. Jack grew close to his father, who was a very kind and loving father, and was dismayed by his death when Jack was seventeen years of age.

A year later Jack left the Venus colony and enlisted his services not as a soldier, but as a mercenary. Hiring out his services as a strong arm, Jack visited many places and found himself in many different situations. In one of these situations, Jack found himself on the wrong side of a high-energy pulse. He was working with a research crew on one of the Hydari* planets using some very expensive pieces of technology to analyze and study various bio-matter. The job had been very boring so far, and the lack of excitement had been wearing on Jack. Without warning, several energy pulses flew by his head, narrowly missing his head. Raising a sonic-pulse rifle, meant to stun instead of kill, Jack aimed at the oncoming Human raiders and felled two of them. Aiming for a third Jack heard the sizzle of another energy pulse travelling through the air and smelt the odor of burnt flesh. Looking down he noticed that two of the fingers on his left hand had been hit, the nerve endings immediately cauterized on impact. Ignoring the painless wound, Jack instead noted an even greater problem, his weapon had been reduced to a smoking piece of metal, the circuitry of the weapon exposed.

Seeing other of the hired arms around him being felled by direct blows from the ambushing men’s guns Jack did what any sensible person would do in that situation. He ran.

It has been years since that particular incident and Jack has learned to never let his guard down. What was an even stranger development was that he even became what he had fought on that day, a pirate. Frequenting the public houses on Hydari worlds, Jack is often seen mingling with the unsavory crowd of murderers, smugglers, and other pirates like himself looking for a job.

* - Hydari – The third most advanced race in the Milky Way, the Hydari are a reptilian race, mostly inhabiting worlds with desert climates, although they have been known to live in other worlds with an equally hot, yet more humid atmosphere.

-Technology - While not quite as advanced as the other races in their general knowledge of space travel, the Hydari have developed their weapon and information systems to an extent beyond either the Humans or the Ai.

- Culture – The Hydari culture is the only known Anarchy which has resulted in order. The Hydari have virtually no laws outside of the Law of Blood, which commands that the Hydari have respect for their own kind. Outside of this one law, the Hydari are freed to do as they please. The Hydari cities are mostly based underground, although the spires of some towers may be seen above ground. The Hydari do not marry, and breeding is an annual affair, and quickly forgotten. Due to their lawless society, Hydari cities are often the home to the scum of the galactic societies. However, even the most hardened criminal is careful around the Hydari, wary of their great strength, lethal poison, and how infamously hard they are to kill.

- Biology – The average Hydari is fifteen feet long, only six feet of which actually rises above the ground. They have two arms, which are used in much the same fashion as a Human’s. The Hydari are a cold-blooded race, and therefore require warm climates to keep their bodies going at peak performance. The Hydari are also equipped with a very potent bio-toxin, capable of killing anything but Hydari and Nameless in a matter of minutes, causing the victim’s blood to boil. The Hydari are immune to all poisons, resistant to gamma radiation, physical harm is hard to inflict on the Hydari, due to their armor like scales, and they are also gifted with regenerative ability. The average life span is 970 years, if nothing untoward happens.
