• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I don't think we have met before.

Hello Lotuspetal_uk!

It's a bit grim here in the eastern counties today- I hope you have it a bit brighter wherever you are!
Hi Abiel!

I've not been on here as often as I use to in the past, but it's good to meet you!

God willing, the sunshine that we've currently got in the Midlands might make it's way over to you guys within the hour. It was AWFUL earlier this morning!

Hi and 's everyone,

I truly believe my struggles at work are linked to SAD. Had a challenging week, shed a few tears and happier now that it's the weekend.

I suppose the main thing this season has been me staying close to the Lord in daily prayer. What surprised me this past week was that last year I didn't do this, but this year by offloading to Him about how I felt, I would notice almost a "given" strength to make it through the day.

I'm going to try to get back into lifting you guys up in prayer in a "when two or three are gathered together" kind of way.

Gosh I feel the same way when Fall arrives. People around me talk about how it is their favorite season but it is anything but my favorite season. It's just downright depressing. My depression is bad enough during the rest of the year, and the Fall season simply does not help. The leaves can be beautiful and it can be the clearest sunny day out, but it simply does not help. As long as it is Fall, it can be the most "gorgeous" day out and it simply does not help.

P.S. I just reread my post after posting it and I sorta was repetitive there, lol

I've been feeling this way too today. I used to be a fall-lover, but it's just different this year. Something about the positioning of the sun and the lack of warmth seems unfulfilling. It looks beautiful but it feels deceiving.

I'll try to adopt QuietSpirit's attitude about it though - someone on Earth is experiencing a long-awaited summer.

No doubt that someone is experiencing long awaited summer. I wish I didn't have to go thru Fall and Winter to reach it!

I honestly think that if we didn't suffer from depression, Fall, albeit "sad" looking, could be a lot more bearable. I may not be able to speak for everyone, but this is just my opinion.

I used to dread summer's hot temps. Now I can't even believe that I'm saying that I appreciate it now when it is in the mid 80s or even 90 (but I do start disliking things once they reach 90), because sooner or later it's gonna become like 60 degrees, and the winds are gonna start going at, say 40 mph and it's gonna get that sad vibe.
