  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's not just the Epstein files, now...

Trump Personally Intervenes to Block Release of January 6 Documents

Donald Trump is blocking access in a lawsuit brought by police officers injured in the January 6 riot.

The Department of Justice has confirmed that President Donald Trump blocked the release of more than 4,100 documents related to the deadly riot on January 6.

In a court filing Monday night, lawyers for the DOJ revealed that Trump had stepped in to prevent the release of some material requested as part of a lawsuit brought by police officers injured by violent rioters at the U.S. Capitol. The materials were originally subpoenaed from the National Archives and Records Administration in February.

More documents that could have been released from 2021 to 2025 but were not.
Actually, a lot of it was in the trials of the insurrectionists. The data the injured police officers are looking for, relates to Trump's role in inciting the insurrection and his failure to take action to stop it.

Not surprising that he's desperate enough to try to cover it up.
Also a lawsuit that could have been filed years ago but was not.
The law determines how late is too late. The injured officers have a right to hold the perps accountable. And the SCOTUS has ruled that Trump does not have immunity for actions that are not the legal responsibility of a president. Turns out, trying to overthrow a lawful election is not one of the duties of a president.

BZZT! (mostly) WRONG. Try again.

According to Politico, the suit was filed five years ago and the Biden administration routinely waived executive privilege for document requests related to it. This particular subpoena was issued in September and it looks like Biden didn't get around to letting it through.

Trump's been trying to block the release of records this whole time.

Sounds like you're saying it could have been filed years ago but wasn't, as I did - with the reason being Biden added.

Yeah, I suppose one could interpret it that way if you misread my comments and ignore the Politico piece altogether.

Time is too precious of a commodity to waste it on reading Politico.
