Should a mother who gives birth to a baby who is addicted to crack be charged with child abuse ?Indeed. It seems to me that most pro-life people are only interested in getting rid of clinical abortions, without thinking about back-alley abortions or the other actions that sometimes lead to the termination of a pregnancy. Shouldn't they be just as concerned about drinking alcohol during pregnancy, or partaking in rigorous or risky physical activity?
Another male with all the answers for women, I see. What a surprise!
investigate and if they believe it is murder charges should be brought by a prosecutor and the the legal process goes forward in the same way as anyone who is suspected of committing a crime .
considering a baby exposed to heavy drug use will be effected for life she should at least get a slap on the wrist or a sternI think many of them would say yes.
they wouldnt track the welfare of fetuses does the state track the welfare of every single child outside the womb ?Given the death rate in early pregnancy how would the state track the welfare of the fetuses then given that ?
They do whenever medical treatment is required. Under pro-life logic, a woman who goes in because of a miscarriage should be subject to the same interrogation that parents go through in the ER.they wouldnt track the welfare of fetuses does the state track the welfare of every single child outside the womb ?
they wouldn't track the welfare of fetuses
does the state track the welfare of every single child outside the womb ?
What do you recommend? A fine that will make her even less able to provide for her child and even more likely to need government assistance? Or would you prefer a short jail sentence that will send the infant into the foster system?considering a baby exposed to heavy drug use will be effected for life she should at least get a slap on the wrist or a stern
well if they are not even known to exist in the first place noone would know . Not all murders are solved or even investigated yes they could get away with murder people do get away with murder unfortunately and not all criminals are held accountable for their crimes .How would the law be enforced then? How would those citizens be protected and their rights insured when they are not even know to exist?
To a certain level.
Way to miss the point. A huge number of pregnancies spontaneously abort, called miscarriages. Do they all get a murder investigation?
Parents are asked questions about the circumstances of the injury when they take their child to the ER for such a reason. That's an interrogation, by definition. It doesn't mean good cop/bad cop with a low-hanging lamp in a jail.investigations are not "interrogations"
well if she is still addicted to drugs is that a good environment for a newborn with medical issues to be in ? I dont know what kind of punishment would be most appropriate for inflicting lifelong damage to another person do you have anything against community service ?What do you recommend? A fine that will make her even less able to provide for her child and even more likely to need government assistance? Or would you prefer a short jail sentence that will send the infant into the foster system?

no an interrogation is being dragged to a police station and being pressured to admit to criminal behavior an investigation is gathering facts from different sources about an event that happened to a human being and then after those facts are gathered a decision is made about what should be done about what is learned . do you believe that children to arrive in the ER with suspicious bruises and burns should be investigated ?Parents are asked questions about the circumstances of the injury when they take their child to the ER for such a reason. That's an interrogation, by definition. It doesn't mean good cop/bad cop with a low-hanging lamp in a jail.I wasn't trying to sensationalize. And interrogations are a crucial part of nearly any investigation, so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Anyhow, terminology is beside the point. Questioning, interrogation, investigation, whatever. I was simply referring to the investigative process that takes place in this situation. Whatever you would like to call that is what a woman would go through after a miscarriage in a truly pro-life nation, as she would be the parent of a child who is not only injured, but dead.
The 6th leading cause of death in women age 20 - 34 in the United States is from complications from pregnancy (link: cdc). Given that, should women be forced to take that risk and put their children already born at risk of being motherless?

Once again, no, it is not. We're talking about reality, not movies.no an interrogation is being dragged to a police station and being pressured to admit to criminal behavior
Punctuation would be appreciated.no an interrogation is being dragged to a police station and being pressured to admit to criminal behavior an investigation is gathering facts from different sources about an event that happened to a human being and then after those facts are gathered a decision is made about what should be done about what is learned .
Yes there is definitely a much different connotation to the word interview and the word interrogate though they can both be used to refer to the same thing.Technically speaking, interviews by police officers are interrogations. Word choice is often decided based on how the article wants to portray the police in a given situation.
