I do believe that God created them male and female and created all animals, fish, birds, etc after their kind but I believe the earth is probably much older than 6-10 thousand years old. I also believe that in 6 days God created it all but I don't believe it actually happened in the order that is listed in Genesis chapter 1. BUT I do believe Genesis 1 is literal and happened exactly as it said, though. Figure that out and let me know what category I fit into.

Again, it depends what's being disagreed with.
If the opening salvo is a smear on an entire profession backed up with next to no evidence, particularly when it's a profession held by a significant portion of the board membership, that's pretty much civility gone out the window as far as that side of the argument is concerned.

The real problem is belief systems that describe reality before reality is revealed. (i.e. creationism hundreds of years ago) Afterwords, many stick to the beliefs that have been ingrained in their culture, even though they have been proven wrong.Or maybe SOME people could refrain constructing belief systems akin to a house of cards made out of wet crepe paper.
