LolFirst of all mathclub... who asked you? There... can you understand that? Let me make it VERY clear to you. Now read slowly... I - don't - care - what - you - think. Clear enough?? It usually takes me a while to put some of you on ignore but you caught me in just the right place so in your case I'll go right there. You want to talk to me keep your little punk attitude to yourself. Make heads or tails out of that why don't you.
Funny yes!
Bad absolutely!!
He really didn't say anything that bad and he was right - I really didn't make my first two sentences very clear. I'll have to apologize now. I hate when I lose it. I can just hear NP now.
Can you hear me saying something along the lines of "Well, I can see how you'd be a wonderous asset to 'Scienceville' with an attitude like that"? Because that's the sort of thing I would probably post under the circumstances.
However, I think we can agree that everyone's entitled to go off on a rant once in a while, right?
Don't need to be a prophetess to read. Can you do that?
It is common knowledge that a pregnant woman should avoid taking any medication especially within the first 4 months of gestation! In the 50s and 60s pregnant women used to smoke and drink and take medications; Now we know better because science progresses!Would you have taken Thalidomide back in the '60s, if you were a pregnant female?
I was responding to this by him:It is common knowledge that a pregnant woman should avoid taking any medication especially within the first 4 months of gestation! In the 50s and 60s pregnant women used to smoke and drink and take medications; Now we know better because science progresses!
Even strong evidence isn't a guarantee that you're making the right decisions. That have such light standards of evidence that they will believe whatever someone tells them for virtually no good reason.
Even strong evidence isn't a guarantee that you're making the right decisions.
Wives in the '60s believed what they were told, and acted accordingly; and history showed that believing in something -- even for a good reason -- is no guarantee of safety.
In short, I'm taking Math's remark with a grain of salt.
Yes, I can. I read the post where you claimed to know Gods thoughts. Not what God said, not what you thought his words meant, his very thoughts. You would usurp Gods authority to try to make a point in an argument?
Wow... you've rendered my speechless!!:o
If Jesus said it... it's good enough for me!!
I agree with it and will not try to explain it away no matter what someone in Scienceville has to say. I've heard people say that they USED to be Christians but because SCIENCE showed them differently they had to go with science and left Christianity.
That's okay they have chosen their god. I choose my God and say, "If ALL of Scienceville disagrees with God's Word then Scienceville is wrong." In my opinion, I don't believe that science disagrees with the Word. I think science AGREES with God's Word I just think peoples interpretation of science and/or the Word is wrong. (and just fyi, I believe the Bible to the written Word of God)
By the way, I DO know God's thoughts. They are written down in the Bible AND He has given me His Spirit that I might KNOW the things of God. I'll give you scripture on that too. I don't say any of these things on my own. I live by the Word of God. I base my life, thoughts, opinions etc. on the Word of God!!
Now you see, the pre-rant NP would've responded with a wisecrack like "and we're all grateful for that!"
But since I got it out of my system, I'll just wave.
Thanks NP...
But...don't worry it won't last long... wouldn't want to disappoint anyone.
Apparently you think claiming to know Gods thoughts is not usurping his authority. I disagree but will not press the point.
Would you reject the authority of His Word... His Son??
What authority? The authority others claim in His name is the only thing I have ever seen.
Ah yes, the cute little rhetorical device that allows you to bypass your own fallibility and claim the omniscience of God. Completely ignoring all the Christians who have no problem reconciling their faith with science.

Yes, amazingly enough when you make claims about your religion that are easy to disprove people tend to think you have sold them a pig in a poke. This is not the fault of science.

It's a vast conspiracy that has spanned the globe for hundreds of years. It is of such depth and scope it makes the most wild claims of machinations by the Illuminati seem child's play in comparison. Or you could be wrong.
Sorry, but I do not believe any of your claims of knowledge of God. When your claims are measured against reality they come up far short of coherence. I don't think God would make the mistakes you do.
And here's where the issue of definition comes in -- around these parts, the question of whether one is a "creationist" or "evolutionist" centers around how the deed was done, not by whom.
You believe that God created -- ok, so you're a theist. Since you don't think it happened in six literal days, 6000-10000 years ago as "documented" in the Bible, you're not a "creationist" by the common definition. You're what we'd call a theistic evolutionist -- God began the process and let nature take its course from there (with or without prodding on His part).
Now, there are some creationists who love to (in fact, can do very little but) play games with semantics and defintions, and claim that since you believe that God created, you're a creationist. Some of them go even further and say that since everyone believed that the world was created (a hard fact to dispute, since we're all currently standing on it) that everyone is a "creationist."
This serves no purpose, of course, except to give creationists an artificial sense of validity by inflating their perceived ranks. It sounds pathetic, because it is, as you will see when you encounter creationists who employ such petty semantics -- assuming you haven't already.
Indeed -- nor is it God's autobiography, a literal factual history of everything worth knowing, or an eyewitness account of the world -- and yet, you'll be surprised how many people labor under the assumption that it is.
Far more poetic -- and we all need to remember that.
Neither will my good humor -- I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone, either.
I also believe that in 6 days God created it all but I don't believe it actually happened in the order that is listed in Genesis chapter 1. BUT I do believe Genesis 1 is literal and happened exactly as it said, though.
Okay NP here's one for you. What am I? I do believe that God created them male and female and created all animals, fish, birds, etc after their kind but I believe the earth is probably much older than 6-10 thousand years old. I also believe that in 6 days God created it all but I don't believe it actually happened in the order that is listed in Genesis chapter 1. BUT I do believe Genesis 1 is literal and happened exactly as it said, though. Figure that out and let me know what category I fit into. This is not a joke. I really believe this way. Of course, I am not telling all here but this is how I see it.
IGNORE!!! Bad attitude!!
Woohoo! My first time being ignored by a creationist. I feel so proud.
