Appearance: A good part of Isao’s ethnicity lies with the Far East, and as such he carries over some of their traits. His brown eyes are oval shaped but wide, turning slightly in the corners with a set of crow’s feet from middle age. His hair is straight and raven black, unkempt and sporadically placed on his brow, around his ears, and just above his collar. He has a thin beard and mustache, closely trimmed to his skin with a few strands of grey. His physique is above average, having trained his body to be a fit warrior over the years. Scars line his body, including his face, but his most prominent battle wound is the loss of his pinky and ring finger on his left hand.
The only time Isao ever wears armor outside of training is when he’s going into battle or on a mission through Hyperion. Otherwise he sticks to lighter weight tunics and breeches, enjoying the free movement it gives him. His weapon of choice is a broadsword, which he has strapped to his back with a thick leather belt, wrapping from his left shoulder, across his chest, down to the opposite side under his arm. Another belt he has situated around his waist with two daggers on either side. He wears one leather glove on his left hand at all times, a way to hide his impairment.
Personality: Isao is the humble warrior, to put it simply. Although he looks stern and unapproachable most of the time, he is actually a calm and laid back person. Years of battle in the Govern have just deemed it differently for his facial expressions. He is firm but never yells and is slow to anger, choosing instead to be reasonable. That does not deter from his ferocity, however. He can be rough and fierce if need be, demanding honor with an extreme loyalty to Orion though he’s usually placid about it. He’s a remarkable strategist and excellent fighter, but his weakness is in emotions as it tends to hinder his abilities to their fullest potential.
Background: Isao joined the military at a young age, his father having been involved heavily in fighting as well. Around this time is also when he married Ana, a local florist who ran her own shop. It was a clash that eventually became too overwhelming for him—one part of his life spent in bloodshed, the sword his closest companion, and the other part he strived to make a life with the delicate beauty he loved. After a few years he was more or less forced to choose, a decision that ended in Ana leaving him. Which was essentially why he then joined the Govern. Not out of rejection or depression, but out of a sense of duty to his land.
The fact of the matter being he had given up all for it, he delved into his life in the Govern, rising in ranks. Forgetting about his personal life and shoving it in the past. He became focused in nothing else except for what his title, as Captain, meant. And of course, his devotion to Orion.
