I just read somthing that really bothers me.  I hope someone can help clarify this for me.

Anyway, the person stated that salvation is "nearly impossible"!  Is this true!!  I am having enough struggles getting myself on track, and yet to think that it is nearly impossible....that's not real encouraging for me right now.  He also stated that "many are called, but very, very few are chosen".

Can anyone help clarify this for me.  I am under the impression that to be saved you need to repent your sins, ask for forgivness and forgive others, and accept Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.  I agree that we need to have a love relationship with Christ, and that we are missing out if we don't do that, BUT  I didn't think that God would want to make that "nearly impossible".  I have a strong desire to have a love relationship with Jesus, and I admit I am struggling to get there.

Thanks,

Wendy

what you said there about the steps in order to be saved is correct.

He also stated that "many are called, but very, very few are chosen".

there's a scripture about it... but i couldn't find it. What it's saying is that the Lord calls on people, but some refuse to heed the call, for example, those who choose to reject Him outright.
There's also a scripture on how people call on the Lord, but Jesus said he's never known them. These are the ones who depend their salvations on work, who outwardly are very good people, but have strayed inwardly. For example, they don't really depend on the Lord, their are.... hypocrites.

that's very sweet words, GoDowNsMe.

JesusIsLife, once you accept Him, you're saved, so don't worry! As GoDowNsMe said, we'll be seeing each other in heaven, and i really look forward to that meeting.

can i add just a little bit to that already great advice?

the bible does teach being "holy and righteous".
and that if you dont deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow him, then you cannot be the disciple of jesus.
says that more than once.

but anyones whos ever tried to do that knows it dont happen the day you decide to doit! hehe
i know that from experience becuase i have a passion for holiness like youd never beleive, many people think its becuase im proud, or that i want to do it all myself without god.
i have a great passion to be holy and not sin agaisnt him.
but from experience i can tell you, it dont happen quick.
youll get up and say "IM NOT GONNA SIN TODAY!"
and walk out and fall down becuase of something you had no idea about, or youll struggle with something you havent yet learned to overcome.
is it possible? absolutely, the word of god teaches us that.
are we there yet? not anyone i know of.

but if youll stay at it long enough, youll learn all the devils tricks, and youll get to place where you no longer fail in your fight because youve been there done that, and have reached that perfect place.
and this only comes from getting alone with god and getting to know him and walking hand in hand with him everystep of your life, and listening to his everyword and stepping everywhere he says to step.
the bible says he leads us in the pathways of righteousness.

but untill we get to that place, we have and advocate with the father!
1 john 1.9 and the following verses.
if you sin and confess to him your sin, hes faithful and just to forgive them, and clean you of ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. meaning theres nothing unclean about you.
and if you fall back down, you still have an advocate with the father and can get back up.

its as easy as getting back up.
sometimes, your righteousness is based how you get back up.
not how long you keep standing.
does god want you fall down? no,
but youll always hear him calling to you,
"c'mon, get back up and try again, you can doit this time!"
so you never have to worry about not making to it to heavon, because he always tries to pick you back up, and his mercy and grace are EVERLASTING!

ohhh lord i cant stop just yet.
today i read in luke.13.34
that jesus came to isreal, the ones who murdered the prophets, the people who had earlier profaned his name and killed his servants. evil extremely ungodly people!

and jesus says "i would have gathered you together like a hen gathers her little ones!" even though they had done all that!
but they wouldnt come.

but it goes to show the great and unfailing mercy of god, and how he has no will for you except to see you make it in!
all hes worried about is you getting to heavon.
no matter what, he just wants you to get there, and theres nothing he wont forgive you for if youll only come to him and repent.
no, theres nothing hard about making it to heavon with god on yourside.

Praise GOD for all these posters, all good sound Docrtine and all well received; let me only add a great verse on Assurance of Salvation: I John 5:13 "These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the NAME of the SON OF GOD; THAT YE MAY "KNOW" THAT YE "HAVE" ETERNAL LIFE, and that ye may BELIEVE on the NAME of the SON OF GOD!!! Glory to GOD Beloved, here we see that the Bible was Designed with the intent that man could KNOW that he is forgiven and saved from sin!

GOD Bless ya'all,

PBO

Dear Wendy,

I dont know if you will remember me talking to you about satan will
bring circumstances or people into your life to slow you down in the word.
He uses these to make you give up hope. As you grow stronger in the word and build a stronger, closer relationship with God you will become a real threat to the devil's plans. God will use this to build you closer to him, to lean and trust in him. To drive you to the word. I always look at it this way when a circumstance or person speaks. I reminded myself to check who is sending the message. Is it full of Love and faith or is it full of fear, doubt and hate.
Check the seeds if its not of Love,God . Dont hold on to it.

It's one of the devil's oldest to use the fact that you are not saved.
I think at a time he try's most people with that old lie.

Ah, YES, it is all clear to me know...PRAISE TO GOD, and thanks to a special friend who talked with me one on one via internet and helped me set all my bad feelings aside, and look at scripture. I am more than back home, and way more than ready to move on.

Thanks for all your support!
