Rap/Hip-Hop is a genre of music just like R&B, Rock, Jazz, e.t.c. Now the type of music is not bad. It is what is in the music(Lyrics) that you have to make the judgement call on. If it is something you know your heavenly father wouldn't approve of then you should'nt listen to it. The music itself is not the problem it is what we put in it that can be. This is not just with Rap but with other genres of music. For example, the difference between R. Kelly's "BUMP n GRIND" and Stevie Wonder's "Ribbon In The Sky" are obvious. The first song promotes sex and fufilling the flesh and the second one promotes pure love between both a man and woman. However, even the second song can be dangerous if you dwell on it if you are single. It's all about discretion and listening to the Holy Spirit. It's how you gaurd your heart.
So no, listening to rap isn't wrong.
