Ecstatic to see you Griffin.Hi Jo. I do not think it is wrong to care about what others think or say about us nor is it wrong to care about what they say to us directly. They are all related. I think we should be circumspect in these cases, judging what they say against what we know to be true and responding appropriately. But there is a line we should not cross...
For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. (Ga 1:10)
If we give more weight to what they say than we do to what God says, we have become their servants and not God's.
Exactly why politics are wrong. It focuses on self rather than God who is our supplierYes, then that is a good example of it being self-centered rather than love for God with all, and neighbor as self.
Self-centeredness always leads to bondage.
There is never a good reason to be anxious. It will make us sick.Preach the kingdom and God will take care of us. No need to be anxious for worldly things like politicians do.
Oopsie. Think i first missed your pointEcstatic to see you Griffin.

I feel good. I dont worry about worldly things, and I don't teach people to do that like politicians do. Jesus said this is wisdom. Anxiety attacks on the other hand are a problem in the brain not the heart. It's like being afraid of stepping in front of a bus. You know what that fear is like, I'm sure. You can't control it but you just endure it until it goes away. Like a headache. God doesn't want you in pain but he allows headaches. There is never a good reason to be anxious. It will make us sick.
It just reveals the lack of faith / trust we have in God. And when we trust Him in one thing, He may challenge us with a circumstance that another level of trust needs.
I like to think that I'm free from legalism, but He continues to show me where it still has a place in my life, on another level.
Hope you are feeling better. Appears so, thank God.
I wouldn't say that. Go deeper. What is in the heart, and we can't always see another's heart, especially if we have a beam in our eye.Exactly why politics are wrong. It focuses on self rather than God who is our supplier
Politicians lead us into being anxious about worldly things. You said that anxiety shows a lack of faithI wouldn't say that. Go deeper. What is in the heart, and we can't always see another's heart, especially if we have a beam in our eye.
Try not to associate good and evil with surface stuff. Good and evil lie in the heart and we can know them by their fruit.
For a Christian to preach politics would be a beam in their eye. Jesus said not to think of worldly things but politicians preach fear, complaints, anxiety, strife and worries over worldly things.I wouldn't say that. Go deeper. I like that.I prefer, Trust in God, conduct yourself with integrity and the One above will take care of everything.
Agree to disagree. Not everyone is the same, but I see you so you've got a pass with me bro, or sis, just don't abuse it and I'll try and do the same. For a Christian to preach politics would be a beam in their eye. Don't get involved in it then. You need to take responsibility for your partPoliticians lead us into being anxious about worldly things. You said that anxiety shows a lack of faith
About the hypocrisy that we were discussing. It's probably better not to teach about fear and anxiety if one also teaches economic fear and anxiety. God hates conomic complaining. Its an utter lack of faith and it dishonors God.Agree to disagree. Not everyone is the same, but I see you so you've got a pass with me bro, or sis, just don't abuse it and I'll try and do the same.
Passing the baton of economic anxiety and fear? Wouldn't preaching the kingdom be better?I've done my part. Passing that baton.
I can't speak for what God may have placed on their hearts. I'm too busy driving through traffic myself.Passing the baton of economic anxiety and fear? Wouldn't preaching the kingdom be better?
Sure, but you can't control others. The world often runs on that stuff, and religion too.About the hypocrisy that we were discussing. Their words are the sin.I can't speak for what God may have placed on their hearts. I'm too busy driving through traffic myself.
I don't wish to control anyone. That's why I don't follow politicians. I have no desire to lord over anyone.Sure, but you can't control others. The world often runs on that stuff, and religion too.
Go higher.
You will know them by their fruit.Their words are the sin.
They're the ones casting the stones. And complaining. That's my pointYou will know them by their fruit.
I'm in no position to cast stones, but yes, we can know them by their fruit
