Philippians 1:20-24
Paul wanted to be with Christ sooner as well. I don't think this was only because of his desire to be closer to Christ but also because he suffered a lot for his mission. Paul knew what it was to suffer badly.
It isn't wrong to express feelings of wanting to die to be with Christ so that you won't have to suffer anymore. Goodness knows I've felt and probably will feel like that more times than I can count. Even Job expressed a wish that he'd never been born and he didn't even know Christ. Him saying this was not counted as a sin.
On a separate note a persons value at any given point in time is comprised of 100s of variables
and each variable in the equation is weighted differently. Each variable would take a tremendous about of
investigating to ascertain the value of that variable. I believe this notion is absolutely necessary for
any forum topic unless that forum topic is what is the best flavor of ice cream.
May I ask why you keep posting that?
You want me to stop posting that? Do you know the meaning of this?
To put it excessively simple and concise. Only Jesus Christ can accurately measure a person's character and lifetime merit. Salvation is absolutely free. Merit is only measurable (accurately) by Jesus Christ.
Was just asking. It did confuse me the first couple of times as it didn't seem to have anything to do with the OP question.
May I make a suggestion? This sentence:
"Each variable would take a tremendous about of
investigating to ascertain the value of that variable."
Doesn't make sense; or did you mean: "...a tremendous amount of investigation"?
As I'm just posting as a member; it doesn't matter to me; but repeated posting of the same post is actually against the rules; it's considered spamming. Just FYI.
yeah it is supposed to be amount not about. Jesus said "when we are weak, he is strong"
Thanks for pointing that out. I put it in my signature so i don't have to keep reposting it.

Scripture says that "heaven" is better ...I'll pray for you! We shouldn't want to die, because we're serving God while we're alive. And there's nothing better.
Paul of the Bible talked about wanting to go home to heaven but, he noted that there was still some work here for him to do.Is it wrong for a suffering christian to wish to go to heaven soon? Or in other words die?
There seems to be alot of people on this forum to want to stay alive.
I would like to add the following notion:

That being said i don't believe having a death wish makes you a good person but it just seems like alot of the people on this forum think having a death wish is strange. To me it is not strange at all, i just want to die naturally. Questions and comments?

Nothing wrong with you wanting to go home. I had lunch with an old friend from work the other day who appears to be in pretty good health and he mentioned he wants to go home to heaven and it seemed like he meant as soon as possible.

I understood you to be saying that the context of a person's life is variable ... and affected by so many different things. On a separate note a persons value at any given point in time is comprised of 100s of variables

So many ... that it is not unthinkable that earthly pressures would, in some circumstances, cause one to wish to seek refuge with Christ in heaven.
Elijah did, ... and God, ultimately, carried him to haven in a fiery chariot ...
I would agree that merit is a aspect on the issue of rewards. In Jesus's house are many mansions, if it was not so he would have said that.

We all build on the foundation of Jesus Christ but our works will be tested with fire.
