• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. I'm not sure if I ever was full on gay but when I was 14-16 I was leaning towards that side but now I'm almost completely straight. Now, I never have homosexual feelings. To be fair, I never was attracted to any guys in real life, I still liked the cute girls at school, but I had a gay pornography problem but it has moved to straight porn which I'm trying to fight... So, is it possible for ones sexuality to change? Any testimonies?

its possible to stop being gay through God

Best thing to do is pray for God to to take your pornography temptation away

i started off watching st8 porn then i started taking notice of guys until i grew and grew
it lead me to in a homosexual lifestyle which i couldn't escape but i got saved by god n he took away every gay feeling

i have a testimony how i was saved from it , in the testimony section under edification

I believe our orientation or whatever you want to call it never changes but it just gets twisted or distorted. I believe God made all people to like the opposite sex but in sin we often twist things. I struggle with homosexual feelings so I can relate. I'm hopeful that one day these feelings will be all gone but I have seen progress. Based on everything I have experienced and felt I would say yes.

In our teenage years we have all kinds of hormonal changes and experimentation in thoughts and sometimes actions. I have watched gay porn in my life bur am not gay, it was more of a curiosity thing. I now live a normal life and am attracted to the opposite sex. I don't believe I was ever gay. I hope this helps you.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says that is what some of you were. Were meaning they are different. I have found complete freedom and the closer I get to God and surrender to the Holy Spirit the temptations become less and the struggle to give in is less. The key that I find is the surrender to the Holy Ghost. He is a teacher and leads us Into all truth, he is a strength and power to the believer, with his help and presence freedom from anything is possible. I have a blog if you would like to read it. Some people say you can<edit>. I honestly don't know if a completely gay person can become straight. But, I know that everything is possible for God, even if it may take time. Some have never been cured, and some have. It's a role of the dice really. I'm struggling with my homosexuality, but I remember that life isn't all about sex and partners. It should be 100% devoted to God. You need to socialise and find people who you can relate to (who are Christian). I pray that God helps you as he's helping me. God bless.

If there was, I would've found it by now. The truth is, I'm sure there is a way to turn straight, it's just really hard. I myself could never imagine myself with a woman as sad as it sounds, I just can't see anything with them. What you need to do is become celibate. It's a sacrifice we all have to make.

Yes it's possible.
1. Jesus christ is worthy and he was human and did not sin, died rose again so we could overcome in him
2. the genome project proves there is no gay gene. you are not born that way. if you have tendncies it is still wrong to make it habits and lifestyle. it is sin
3. you can be victorious over sin because of God
you are a new creation in him
