• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

This isn't a suicude thread I would never commit suicude I couldnt put my body through physical pain like that. What im asking is , is it a Sin to ask god if he could Just take my Life like in my sleep or somthing without Pain? I don't really want to live anymore I see oppurtunitys in my life right now to date several woman who like me but I don't have the motivation to actually wanna start a relationship romantically with anyone or even start a friendship with anyone anymore. I just Don't care anymore and feel I'm just waiting to die now. So is it a Sin to ask god if he could take me?

I mean I see oppurtunitys to get involved with certain girls or start a friendship with with certain people but I feel like its a hassle to have to open myself up to someone a repeated process of meeting someone then having to have to go through the effort of having to Develop a relationship of any kind with anyone I'm a reserved person. It just doesent interest me anymore. I dont have any drive it's like mowing the lawn to me.

Has someone whom you are close to recently hurt you? Or have you been hurt by someone in the past whom you tried to get close to?

actually yes I've been hurt by many people I have no friends at the moment and people in my past who have been myfriends only want me around for entertainment or to use me

Actually, you do have a friend. Jesus Christ is your Friend and Savior; and He's worth living for.

And I'll be your friend too. Although, I will never be as good of a friend to you as Jesus will. For His love for you is perfect; and I'm still learning what it means to walk in His love. But if you ever need someone to talk to, you can always send me a private message.

That said, don't be discouraged. And don't give up on reaching out to people either. There will always be users as long as we continue to live in a sinful world; but they are the ones who need us the most. For they don't know Jesus, but we do; and we can lead them to Him by showing them what it means to love one another. Keep in mind that Jesus was used by many (including us); yet He didn't die to get away from bad people, but to give us life, and thus enable us to draw closer to God. Therefore, let's be the light to the world that Jesus has called us to be, and lift each other up in His name.

Blessings to you...

I'm sorry you are feeling so hopeless.
I don't think it's in any way a sin to ask God to end your life... a lot of us have been there. I don't think that his answer will be yes though... he has plans for you.
I hope that things improve, and you begin to see the reasons for living very soon

I can really, really relate. I really am starting to isolate from my friends and most people in general. I have a lot on my plate but I kind of use that as a crutch so if a guy asks me out I can use it as an excuse. I literally hate it when my cell phone rings. Just know I relate and your not alone.

Howdy brother Kermit the Frog

1Kings 19:4
while he (prophet Elijah) himself went a day's journey into the desert. He came to a broom tree, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. "I have had enough, LORD," he said. "Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors."

Of course what GOD showed Elijah, was HIS perspective and took Elijah's thoughts from himself to higher levels (God's plan).

You are like me...

Frustrated, bummed out, confused, and still love GOD but don't see much power, and can't get ahead as you keep getting one step forward and one step back.

Can you just accept the fact that HE loves you, just the way you are? And just where you are? HE will lead you, each step of the way so don't try to fix anything (let HIM do that) just believe!

You are not alone, I had thinking just like that and obviously we are in good company if perhaps one of the greatest prophets Elijah had similar thoughts.

Your blessed brother.

Is it a sin to ask God for death? I think it's an honest request. I have been praying to God for death for many years, I have even attempted to end my own life numerous times, however God will not allow that. I should be dead from what I've done to myself, but I am not and that is by God's doing.

I think that asking for death is a God honest request. If you are not happy, and there is nothing that will make you happy (I know myself, there is nothing here on Earth that will make me happy) then what is the point of living on?

God gave life to me as a gift. It is precious. Numerous times I have told God I would give that gift back. I am waiting for death.

I believe there are certain types of people on this Earth that truly suffer.. not physically, not mentally, but spiritually. I am spiritually exhausted, drained, and numb.

I do not believe that God exists though. I KNOW God exists, and there is no left or right. I also know that his plans are not mine, so I can only do just that... request.

I am not telling you it is okay to request for death, I am just saying its an honest request. A valid one.

I still try to find ways to fix my problems or find happiness, but in that search I request death each and every day. But since God's plans are different than mine, I still move forward while I wait for death.

We all die eventually, it's just a matter of how and when.

I think that people don't understand the deep feeling of being spiritually exhausted. I don't think its something a lot of people can understand; it's almost mythical/fantasy/type feeling. I think that people can try to give advice, and help you with words, but I think its useless. Its something you have to conquer/do, but honestly.. I think its the worst pain there is, and I think God knows it. I also think it takes a very special person to endure this type of pain. I think its a type of pain no other can comprehend except for God.

Hey brother Dave

The bible talks alot about death, that is true.
Paul said "I die daily" 1 Corinthians 15:31
JESUS said "pick up your cross, deny yourself, and follow ME" Matt. 16:24

(you don't pick up your cross to go to the beach do you?)

Again it says "I have been crucified with CHRIST" Galatians 2:20

So, there is a whole lot of death that is a fact.
But to what end?

What's the payoff?
Why would GOD tell us these things if there wasn't good out of it?
Because HE is good! So where is the benefit?

Here it is...

To have LIFE!

The only thing that GOD wants dead (and we all should for that matter) is the 'sinful nature'. The devil who influences me and you, to do the things we don't want to do (sound familiar?)

The sin nature is the devil - its a person, and its not you!

Also,
LIFE is a person - LIFE is JESUS.
HE doesn't have life - HE is LIFE!

The GOD of life doesn't want death.
In fact we read that death is the enemy. 1 Corinthians 15:26

"I have come to give them LIFE and LIFE more abundantly" John 10:10

Dave, you and I share the same LORD, but I'm not sure we share the same enemy?
