Is hugging wrong?

I see nothing wrong with hugging. All fo my friends give and get hugs, hardly ever side hugs!!!

I have never though that it would arouse anyone but hugging them, as I have never been aroused by being hugged, but that is a good question!!!

Are hugs wrong? Depends on the thought and feelings behind the hug. If you give some one a hug out of true Christian love, then no. But if you give some one a hug because of lust, then yes it is wrong.

Our group of friends has always greeted one another with hugs.

Okay, so I'm not a touch-feely person, so I'm not for people who I don't know just hugging me. That's just a little too much for me. However, I don't necessarily, think its a thing not to do.

I think it's more a cultural thing than anything else. For me, I grew up where there was very little if any hugging or physical contact with anyone. Like yeah, there was hugs and kisses with parents when I was much younger, but these stopped when I reached a certain age, 9 or 10 I think.

And although I will admit to the occasional arousal, it is only with a girl that I may already have an attraction for that is more than just a "Hey, she's hot!" Other than that, though...

And I usually do feel a bit awkward with hugging people that I do not know and am meeting for the first time. And yet, I was part of a middle eastern church in Toronto, and they not only hugged with greeting, but kissed the cheeks as well!!! And yet here I am in Korea, and it is different. It is not really a hugging type culture here. It is improper to hug someone you don't know extremely well.

I think the question of whether or not it is wrong depends on the context where you are at, and where the people are coming from who are there. If there is an issue with personal space, then know to respect this. If there is a guy (or girl) who struggles with lust with a hug cross-gender, then also know not to let them stumble... but it is their responsibility to say something about it.

I hug everyone I'm more than aquantences with. I have hugged some of my friends at every parting, since the day we met. I find it hard to believe that a person would hug with "malicious intent," and that such an innocent act could put any given man in the hands of sinful lust. Sorry, but if a man can't keep himself from this because of a simple hug, he has some major problems.

I'm a hugger. I ask people "is it okay if I hug you" before I do so, though. I hug guys from the side most of the time. If I've known them for years, I hug them full on. Maybe I shouldn't, but nothing (besides God, duh!) makes me feel more safe, than a real hug from a friend!

Maybe I'm weird...

for me it isnt a stumbling block, unless im attracted to her, or were dating. otherwise its just not something i do, i doubt i could hug a guy apart from me dad or me grandad, and with girls i dont hug them like that cos...well i just never have, unless i was dating them of course, I'm one of those sorts that does the Handshake with a pat on the back rather than a full frontal hug

No, hugging is not wrong, and this guy is either overspiritualizing it or just a boldfaced liar. I honestly don't care how much of a woman's body touches me when she hugs me.
