Does that mean he literally creates it or he controls it?

I do not believe He literally created darkness.

I found this verse while researching the word "Create", Hebrew "Bara".
I was thinking that when He said He created darkness, that it would be the Hebrew word "Asah". H6213
Humans can asah, we can't create something out of nothing. Only God can.
If my understanding is wrong, please let me know.

It’s like we accosiate space as a vast vacuum of nothing, emptiness,
But we need to understand if space is real, It is God who created it

In our mindset God did NOT create darkness; but in the ancient Hebrew mindset He did by creating light.

My point about opposites, when you create one, the other is also created. You can’t have one without the other
When God created good, evil was there too.

Isaiah 45 (NASB)
5 “I am the Lord, and there is no other;
Besides Me there is no God.
I will gird you, though you have not known Me;
6 That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun
That there is no one besides Me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other,
7 The One forming light and creating darkness,
Causing well-being and creating calamity;
I am the Lord who does all these.

God ALLOWS 3 things to His glory within His Sovreignty:

1. Evil and spirit beings. He CREATES only good.
2 a chaotic universe
3. The "free will" of Man and angels
