I know you were kidding I never played the game, just watched the movie and seen some clips from Dead Space... those games are actually intended to be Horror so.

But when I think of the devil... I see Pyramid Head.

I'll have to google him.

when I think of satan, I think of someone very put together and good at hiding their filthiness. Can't think of any example from fiction though.

I wouldn't say I have a problem with RPGs in general.
With that being said you'll find some heavily influenced by gnostics teachings, the occult, Freud, Nietzche, etc. I suggest doing some research on the game(s) you're interested in before picking them up and like others have said in this thread and the other, 'If in doubt, throw it out'.

In Shadow Hearts, you turn into a demon. Apparently that must mean I'm working on perfecting my transforming into a demon technique in real life. Ugh.....
I haven't heard much about Shadow Hearts. Is this a game you'd recommend to another Christian? Is this a game you'd recommend to another person in general?

Sure. I lent my copy of shadow Hearts to one of my best friends, a fellow believer. He loved it. His favorite game he's ever played, no joke. (Spoiler: One of the main villains is a former Catholic Cardinal.)

You are right about Nietzsche, Freud (you forgot Jung) and occult and gnostic themes in games. The Xenosaga trilogy is loaded with them! Great games.

Well Pyramid Head pictures the horror side of the devil...

As for what you said, I'd say someone like Seymour Guado

Nah. Seymour was creepy and shady from day one. lol You KNEW that guy was going to be a villain.

I'd say someone more like Zera from Grandia 2. A holy, religious man who turns out to be the incarnation of the devil himself. (Spoilers. lol)

Come to think of it. I did see my brother play a game once for a pc. There was a board where you are in a building with demons, fire, demonic poltergeist, and all kinds of things. It was weird. It was worse then Oblivion. lol

But I can't remember the name of it.
