In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

you mean 'sad' ending, ferment.

hey, they're still producing some more inuyasha episodes right? this series is so long.
Unless Shonen Sunday gets another series of any quality, Inu-yasha will never end.

The guess is that it will end around 200 episodes. I haven't been reading the manga so I don't know how much they have left to tie up but they have been sticking pretty close to it so far.

Question, in which (if any) episode does Rin meet Sesshoumaru? I know how they meet and all, but I've never seen the episode and don't remember missing one around where it should be. Is it from one of the movies or something?

I really don't think its either of the currently released movies (I watched them both this morning) but my mind is drawing a blank when it comes to Rin meeting Sesshoumaru.

*edited because Sesshoumaru's name is so hard to spell*

it's really strange that Sesshourmaru *sputter* takes Rin in. As usual, we don't get to see what really goes on in his mind, unlike Inuyasha, uh... hard to see what a reserved guy thinks in anime, all you see are scene after scene of the character standing, looking thoughtful and dangerous. right?

Like I've said in other threads, I think Sesshoumaru taking Rin along with him is a sign he'll wind up a good guy near the end, probably at the end, and I think he'll get killed in the process to help wrap up the show -Sesshoumaru is unknown to Kagomes' 'present time'. I also think his taking Rin along is a sign he's more like his father than he's willing to admit. Sesshoumaru hates InuYasha because he's a half-breed and hates his father for taking an interest in humans. Like father like son, look who Sesshoumaru's keeping company with now! Rin is becoming Sesshoumarus' little kid practically. So maybe Sesshoumaru is doing a double-take here eh? Of course I've heard the alternate idea that paints a far more sinister picture, the idea that Rin is being retained as a last resort hostage and/or a walking emergency food ration. I hope this isn't true however.

*Some Spoilers -highlight to read but be warned*

In the manga Sesshoumaru tells Kagome how to save Inuyasha (I don't remember where though). I think Sesshoumaru has a side that he just doesn't show. Now if Rin was just food or the like then he wouldn't have gotten so mad at Naraku when he kidnapped her (I think this was in the 100 episode range but don't quote me on that). What I used to think was that Rin was originally a "human to protect in able to use Tetsusaiga" then I saw the episode where they met. I suspect that he will do something pretty shocking when it comes to the battle over the final shard of the Tama no Shikon.

I was just watching an episode and saw a quote made about Sesshoumaru that I think, explains a lot.

Sesshoumaru is a very proud person. He seems calm, but if he was that humiliated, he must be seething inside.

To anyone who has ever met a *seriously* hardcore proud person, this statement puts Sesshoumaru in perspective. He isn't going to show any emotion (other than a bit of hate now and then) if he feels that is going to show weakness. I personally hope that the third movie helps clear up a few questions I have about Sesshoumaru (I so wish I could speak japanese fluently so I could understand what is said in the trailers for that movie).

More Spoilers- for the episodes in the early 100 range and I try to be vauge with all parts possible but some spoilers are not easily avoided- Highlight to read

Sesshoumaru may not have the same idea of wrong or right as Inuyasha's group but quite often in the later episodes he does stuff that kind of make you go "huh?". In episode 110, he actually saves Kagome, Shippou, Sango and Miroku. It isn't necessarily to just save them for the "fuzzy feeling" but he could just have easily left them to die in this episode, or even just removed the person killing them (a nice over the shoulder toss could work) in order to talk to the Inuyasha group.
I seriously think that Sesshoumaru may not come out of the series being a glowing "good guy" but I don't think he will be the evil character that he was originally shown as.

*end spoilers*

Does anyone else wonder what Sesshoumaru's relationship to his father was? We know what their father must have thought of Inuyasha (the robe of the fire rat, Tetsusaiga ect) but I can't help but wonder if Sesshoumaru was "second best".

Oh and how many people here have watched into the 100-120 range of Inuyasha? Anything past about episode 110 I try not to mention here but I can easily lower that if no one else has seen anything close.

But it is always polite for me to ask. Some boards don't like it when one person is too far ahead and posting spoilers (even when they are hidden).

what's the point of starting a thread on anime discussion when you don't get to talk about the finer points in the anime?
but yeah, lots of people don't like spoilers coz they haven't seen it... hey, typing the words in white works really well Squeaky!

It is a trick used on a lot of different forums where you just type what you want in the color of the background.
If anyone else feels they need to do it, just type what you normally would and then higlight and change the color (you would be amazed how often I encounter people who try to type in the background color and then wonder how they can see what they are typing).
