  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i have some kind of intercession experience.
at 1st it was exciting. later

i find we are just repeating what the person is asking + amen. n that becomes very boring.

2ndly doing an intercession job is a lot of stress. u face all the unhappy things in life. nobody coming to u is happy.

the worst is those whose life is such a mess. they are in forever depression, troubles 1 after another. n no matter how u encourage them, lift them up in prayers. they just respond to u "i still need lots lots prayers" n they always tell u they can hardly live on.

another crazy thing is they totally have no faith in what they r asking u to pray. u pray for them already in the morning, in the afternoon they ask u to pray for it again. what can u do? n the next morning again, the next afternoon again, all for the same thing.

sometimes the person who prays for another also feel G-d is deaf. he prays for the same in the morning, then in the afternoon again. or after a few days pray for the exact same thing again. boring? hehe.

3rd problem, both parties, the person who asks for a prayer, n the person who prays for another, may have some serious problems (for example understanding of basic bible knowledge or lack a closer successful devotional life with the Master), or lack a rich and diverse experience in own life.

if intercession becomes such situation, u may easily lose interest in it.

what do u think?

Praying for intercession may not be the answer. It is kind of like praying for a sign. We receive blessings by faith. Continuance of prayers and supplications, bring edification through intercession.

Rom 8:34

Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Rom 8:27

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God.

When Noah built the Ark, he created his own intercession against the floods, but only by hearing the Word of God. Had he not heard and obeyed the Word, he would have surely died.

Mat 6:3

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

I think we pray and supplicate for the Spiritual gifts that we want, and then the Holy Spirit provides the intercession.

Personnally I think interseccion isn't ment for requests. The atar of intercession was in the Holy Place for the priest to use in their daily work.
Discernment is for intercession. What a person discerns prayer is needed for that's what i think should be prayed about, just what the Holy Spirit says, then that opens the channel for God to act.

Yes, and praying according to the word for others.

Intercession is work plain and simple. While it can be a jopyous experience to intercede for people, it isn't necessarily meant to be exciting. I come from a Pentacostal background, so believe me when I say i understand all about prayer sessions that have lot's of energy.

1 corin 12: 28

G-d puts in place in church:
1st place apostles
2nd place prophets
3rd palce teachers
then miracles performers
followed by healers/ helpers/ director/ tongues speakers.

set ur heart on more important gifts.

it's not easy to know ur own gift n stick to it. nobody needs to do everything. intercession is absolutely not my main strength.

When I pray for someone, I try not to start with what I think the problem is, but what the Holy Spirit is telling me to pray for. My problem is I need to discipline myself to pray daily and not let myself get distracted by worldly things, which my flesh finds more interesting. The more we pray in the Spirit, the more we strengthen ourselves as intercessors. The trap is praying to perform a religious work and not seek out God sincerely. That is boring.
