  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Infinite merit and infinite homage.

The mass has two major liturgies in it
  1. the liturgy of the word which is public and was attended by Christians and Catechumens in ancient times
  2. the liturgy of the Eucharist which was intended for Christians only
In the former instruction from the holy scriptures is given. It is instruction about Christ and his mission, about human beings and their needs, about grace, about the ages to come.

In the latter the Lord's supper, Holy Communion, the holy Eucharist, the holy Supper is prepared and received. It is partaking of the Lamb's feast too.

In it is given the sacrifice of infinite merit and through it is given infinite homage to God.

It is, as saint Paul says, participation in the blood of Christ and participation in the body of Christ.

Just a thought.
