Everything within her ached as hot, angry tears slit through her soul. A brokenness of spirit consumed her yet she reached desperately for His hand. She longed to be close to Him and with every ounce of strength she could muster, she cried out. The fiery One was sifting through her hands. How could she ever get closer to Him if what she held on to was fading? Her thoughts drifted back, to years ago when the met.

She was weary and broken, her soul longed to be free. Desperate for freedom in whatever form she could taste, she longed for death. Numbness covered her wounds, as gauze dressing covers gashes that could not heal themselves. She revealed them to no one.
In her search for fulfillment, she attended a gathering. People stood, or sat carelessly on soft chairs. The whole room echoed a warm laughter and music filled the air. It was then that she met Him and felt His first embrace. Amidst joy and shouting, her sobs racked the atmosphere with the very hint of His touch. Such release was found in the embrace of one who knew how to love her. Such joy in tears that streaked her face.

Her thoughts returned to the present, to the time at hand. All around her lay broken pieces of a love that used to be. Again tears welled up in her eyes as she searched for an answer. With a heavy spirit, she began to pick up the pieces.
