• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's my point.

Good leadership is able to find or provide that. Good leadership doesnt abandon it.

Good leadership
Then let's unify under what Charlie Kirk stood for with encouraging open discourse free from violence, cancel culture, and accusations of hate speech just because there cannot be an agreement. Let's unify with having more Charlie Kirks around who are willing to have conversations with people. The worst thing anyone can possibly do is suggest that Kirk's words brought about his death.

It reminds me of the last 50 years of the western Roman Empire. Leadership was lacking. Empire imploded. History repeats itself.

Is that SERIOUSLY thr worst thing someone being labeled ad a martyr could have said about them? That their words mattered to people? As much as some liked his words, others were hurt and ostracized.

there is still no concrete report as to this guys leanings. So we don't know Anyhring solid yet.

Maybe universities should teach the old parable, "Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me." How much do you think Charlie Kirk felt hurt and ostracized because someone in the audience was calling him names? But this brings us to the crux of the matter, the radical left knows that baseless and emotional charged insults dont have the same effect on conservatives. They cant hurt our feelings, so they resort to physical harm.

Nobody on this forum is full of hate of conservatives AND realizes they have to resort to physical violence BECAUSE nothing they say will do any good.
Good thing I am not talking about anyone on this forum. Unless they are planing to throw a milkshake at me if they see me on the street wearing a Trump 2028 hat.

Half of the voters are liberal democrat and half are conservative republican. Which side should give into the other to achieve unity?

I would say half the voters have to vote for liberal Democrats and half the voters have to vote for conservative Republicans. Most of the people I know and myself don't really fit into a party of all or nothing. Perhaps if there were more choices instead of the person picked by party leadership.

I think what many people fail to understand is the difference between liberal and a leftist. There was a point in time in which both conservatives and liberal could be unified around a common goal, but merely disagreed on how to achieve it. Take poverty for example. Both sides want to end poverty. However liberals thought entitlements and welfare was the solution, but conservative believed that employment and higher wages were best.

Now when compared to the leftist, there is no common goal. One side wants to trans the kids, and the other side says that is child abuse. Where is the middle ground. Another example from the far right would be radical Islam who's goal is to kill all Jews. Where is the middle ground? Kill only half the Jews?

This is not the extreme outliers. This is between 35-55% of people who consider themselves liberal to moderately liberal. Some of these so called "extreme outliers" are members of congress!
All those people are making "death lists"?

Perhaps the intent is; "I would prefer to lead a united country."

1 Tim 6:4
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

People have interpretations that reflect their own bias and experience.

Matt 12:34
Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

I honestly don't know but I would guess zero. He had plenty folks supporting him.

He felt righteous in what he said. Why would he feel bad?

Honestly I haven't seen any of those here on cf.

Frankly I've seen quite a bit of very valid criticism against him (and some very not valid responses feom certain internet quarters).
"Baseless" is just rhe wrong word to use altogether. Emotional? I dunno. Am I to assume you actually believe Republicans are Spock like in their rationality and devoid of emotions?

Cause that's....hilarious.

dont have the same effect on conservatives. They cant hurt our feelings.
And yet you guys cry all.the.time.
