If we are made in the image of God, where does homosexuality fit?

I never said it was. I have seen where posters see the word abnormal and take it to heart.

I wouldn't say that you yourself over react or are childish but there are certainly posters childish enough to see every single shred of doubt toward homosexuality as prejudice.
When in reality, it's just as natural to question why homosexuals are attracted to people of the same sex, as it is to be homosexual.
Even more so, some would say.

No one ever questions why someone is left handed or has freckles or has blue eyes, because those things don't have such a dramatic influence on your life as homosexuality does.
So the comparisons are childish, to say the least and need to be rationalized some how.

So would you say that being homosexual is decidedly more noticeable then being left handed or having blue eyes or freckles, to the individual who has them?

So interracial couples don’t have to be couples…they can just choose to fallout of love and then fall in love with individuals of the same race…right? ... or is that different?

Dude... you need to chill on the race thing... you're obsessed with the subject, and in this post it is way off topic...

As to the OP, one has nothing to do with the other. Murders, rapist, Drunks, Lairs, Greed Mongers, etc., are all created in the image of God, but do not live in the spirit of God. Homosexuality goes against the natural law of nature.

I know BBW... there are homosexuals in every species to some point, but that does not make it right. Homosexuality is caused by the mother being under some type of physical or mental stress during the 12th -14th week of pregnancy where the brain goes through a hormonal wash that determines the fetus' sex. Some get too much or too little testosterone or estrogen, thus effecting the sex they are naturally drawn to - in a overly simplified explaination.

The fact is of the 3+ Million Homosexuals, this holds true with about 11-13% depending on what study you read. Thus, over 87% of homosexuals, are gay by choice and not by some medical cause.

With that said, medical science has also found chemical imbalances in the brains of Murders and rapist that make them predisposed to commit the crimes they do. So... should we except their actions as acceptable because of their medically proven predisposition?

I think that straight people think it is wrong because its not something they themselves feel.

Just as gay peopel find straightness wrong.

Your really saying, you as a person are wrong because you like dudes and you are a dude. Or you like chicks and you are a chick.
Thats like someone who doesnt like chocolate walking up to a anti chocoalte person and saying, your hate for chocoalte IS WRONG. You must like it !

no it is an accurate if uncomfortable question. The fact you do not like it and are unwilling to answer it says as much

If one is going to say that it is OK for one minority to should not fall in love, marry and raise families then it should be just as applicable to any other minority.

As to the OP, one has nothing to do with the other. Murders, rapist, Drunks, Lairs, Greed Mongers, etc., are all created in the image of God, but do not live in the spirit of God. Homosexuality goes against the natural law of nature.

If you are going to try to claim it is unnatural then you are left to explain why it is found in nature and why it is natural for gays and lesbians to be gays and lesbians

I know BBW... there are homosexuals in every species to some point, but that does not make it right.
We have yet to see a reason why something inborn is wrong

That is incredible. Can you provide actual evidence to back this up?

Please list these conclusive studies

Thus, over 87% of homosexuals, are gay by choice and not by some medical cause.
Can you provide actual evidence to substantiate this claim?
So gays and lesbians are comparable to murderers and rapists?

Is it any more or less noticeable than being black?

They are all different. And none are abnormal.

Or is that childish?

Well, not that you're childish, but the sentiment is.

If by comparing someone who is African American to someone who is left handed and cross referencing that to someone who is homosexual you mean to say there is no difference, I'd have to say...

What?

I have a box of crayons that is made up of several different colours and non of them are abnormal in that homosexuals are not abnormal.

What I asked was, is there a higher notability between having blue eyes and being homosexual?
Yes or no would be the preferred answer.

I dont think race and eyes and freckles can be compared to homosexuality, because in certain groups, it is deemed controversial and sickening.

In some countries homosexuality is punishable by death. I will not be put to death because of the colour of my eyes.

People put these views and consequences in place because they fear it and do not understand it

Thank you dGirl,
That is a very acceptable answer

Putting aside people who force consequences onto someone for simply being homosexual I'd like to ask another question.

Would it be just as normal for someone who is heterosexual to question a gay persons sexuality. As it would for a gay person to question a heterosexuals sexuality?

“God went on to say: ‘Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness.’ . . . And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.”So Adam was God’s son, and we all come from Adam. When he was created he had God’s qualities, his fine attributes of wisdom, justice, love and power. Adam was a perfect man.—Deut. 32:4.

Romans 5:12: “Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.” So “death ruled as king” from Adam down to the present time.

Rom. 1:24-27: “God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them . . . God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error.”

1 Cor. 6:9-11: “Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men . . . will inherit God’s kingdom. And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean, but you have been sanctified, but you have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.” (This scripture shows that there were some Christians in the first century who had practiced homosexuality, Regardless of such a background, if persons now abandon their former unclean practices, , and exercise faith in his provision for forgiveness of sins through Christ, they can enjoy a clean standing before God.

God did not create homosexuality, it is a product of sin

In the words of Francis S. Collins, "Does God have a belly button?" Being made in God's image doesn't mean that we appear like him on the outside, I think it speaks more of having his capacity for love, wisdom, creation - though none of these on quite the same scale. I also think it alludes more to our soul as a special creation of God as opposed to the rest of the animal kingdom.

Assuming the old covenant laws against a man lying with another man, it doesn't say it's wrong not to be attracted to women. So for one, it might be perfectly fine to seek out a life-partner of the same sex, and the rest is debatable only within the church and not outside of it. That being said, the sin of homosexual sex is like any other sin. I have the particular desire to lust after women, and that's been part of me from a very early age. I think the sins that people find themselves particularly drawn to commit correlate to some personal trait that could otherwise be exercised in a Christ-like way. That's where the image of God comes in.

Maybe part of my being created in the image of God is that I just love women, I find them beautiful, and I am drawn to them. This is a good thing, maybe I'm going to end up having several daughters, or counseling women in some way, or simply care for a woman who needs love. A man may find himself drawn to other men the same way I'm drawn to women, and could find himself needed for a role in the kingdom of God that requires that very trait. The attraction itself, seeing the beauty of God's creation, seeking intimacy in purity is not a sin. It's only when we seek these things for our own pleasure that it becomes sinful, when God and others are not considered first in our actions.

Being made in the image of God is being made to love.

If Image of God is attributed to some aspect of our souls and not our bodies I fail to get the connection.
All humans are made in the Image of God. We are all His Children in that aspect.
Many teachers that have taught on this note that only man
has a spirit and soul both and it's with our spirit that we can
worship [Him] in spirit and in truth.

I'd also add that God hasnt' sinned. Man has.
Since that's the case, every part of our likeness can be
and is corrupted by sin.
We share the same range of emotions God has - but ours are corrupted
thru sin and ours aren't pure like His have remained.
(this is why when people judge God for being unfair or cruel,
I have to shake my head; the very people who are tainted by sin
are judging a Holy and all knowing God for not doing right)...

this website usually has good info & has a page on this:

The key is that we have full control over who we have sex with.
That is by choice.

If a pedophile is sexually attracted to little children, it doesn't mean
he/she has to carry out the attraction/lust.
Similarly, people are attracted to other things that the Bible clearly
says are sin. What do we say for the glutton or drunkard or drug
addict?
A glutton can't help the attraction to food - but they don't have to
overeat. It's something they have to overcome and defeat.

Being gay isn’t abnormal
Just like being black isn’t abnormal
Or being left handed isn’t abnormal
Or having blue eyes isn’t abnormal
Or being Muslim isn’t abnormal
Or having freckles isn’t abnormal

God says otherwise:

Romans 1
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

(kjv: Rom 1:26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: )

It IS "abnormal" in that it's unnatural passion - exchanged
for the natural. (this implies CHOICE too).

No offense, but I'll listen to God before you

I disagree with this - you're basically saying that we cannot have
a conscience about sin becuz of how we personally are ourselves.

This statement removes the work of the Holy Spirit in a large mass of
the population (in times past till present) - and it also undermines the
fact that scripture tells us in Rom 1:31-32 that those who live in sin
are willfully rebelling against what is righteous on purpose and want it
that way - not just that gays have personal aversions to hetero's.

For that matter, I can deduce that since I don't Murder or torture
people, that I have an aversion to it only becuz it's something I don't
do or feel personally; therefore, I can't say that it's necessarily wrong.

But we know murder and torture of innocent people are wrong.
We know this becuz God's moral law is imprinted on every one of us.
Many simply fight against it to uphold evil instead. (searing the
conscience).

This reminds me of the scripture in the Book of Acts"We must obey God as ruler than that man" Whose thoughts should we be interested in,Mens or Gods?

Due to worldly propaganda even some among God’s people have been influenced so as to view homosexuality and similar sexual perversions as ‘not so bad. Such views are so pervasive that Newsweek magazine reports: “Spurred by media images and a new climate of acceptance, teenagers are experimenting more openly with gay and bi-sexuality.” Whereas in times past teenagers overwhelmingly disapproved of same-sex liaisons, it is no exaggeration to say that growing numbers of youths now view it as “fashionable.

Many would perhaps respond to this by saying that the Bible’s viewpoint is simply archaic, outmoded. But when you think about it, who knows our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual makeup better than our Creator? God made man and woman, and he put within them the great attraction they have for each other. (Genesis 1:27, 28) He did not make them to have a sexual attraction for someone of the same sex. Furthermore, God has determined that sexual relations between a man and a woman should take place only within the marriage arrangement.—Hebrews 13:4.

It really doesnt help when certain men of God claim that Homosexuality is ok, and I even heard the other day a priest saying that Homosexuality was a Gift from God" Are these men reading their bible? It seems to me that they like to tickle peoples ears with what people want to hear. They should not be speaking for God.
