  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello christians,

the question If Jesus did feel pain and died for you why does God still let you feel pain?

According to islamic understanding God gives us some pain as a sacrifice for our sins.We earn our salvation through this kind of tests..If you think same then why did Jesus die?

i am a Christian.....Christians are not perfect....but they are forgiven! i do my best to try and tell non-believers about Jesus, i do my best to be an example of His Love! However, there would be no reason to cry over spilled milk! If someone is so stuborn and selfish to deny Jesus and they end up burning in hell.....there is nothing i can do about it! Why would i be concerned.....they had their chance just like everyone else. Indeed God will be always sad for them, but i my friend, am not God!

Now let's take a closer look at your logic, which as you are trying to say that mine makes no sense.....we will see about yours.- you said:
how can you have no memory of them, yet have knowledge? That doesn't make sense.
Oh, my friend your logic is senseless- Having knowledge does not mean all-knowing! You might say that you have knowledge, right!- but do you remember everything you hev ever learned- of course not! Check you logic before you type! While you do that i will pray for you!

The death of Jesus was not to remove pain from our world. Jesus death obtained for us eternity with God in painless place. The knowledge of Jesus and acceptance of His act of atonement does bring us strength to take the pain of this world when it comes.

Pain and suffering are the natural outcomes of our sinning state that was inherited from Adam and Eve. There shall be sin and suffering in this world until God brings the final judgement and removes sin from those who accept the Love of The Truth, Jesus.

What sort of pain are you referring to? In any case, if we have no pain then we are not human. Even animals feel pain. If we felt no pain then how would we know if we are hurt?

According to christian understanding, we are to work out our salvation (the salvation we already have through accepting the sacrifice Jesus offered on our behalf) with fear and trembling. Going through tests helps us to grow in faith and develops the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives. If we didn't experience pain then we would not grow. We learn obedience through what we suffer, it was that way for Jesus and it's that way for us as His followers. No servant is greater than his master.

Jesus died as the ultimate blood sacrifice for our sins, not for any pain we might suffer. Pain is not sin. Being hurt in any way.. physical, emotional, mental.. is not sin, it is what you do with that hurt or pain that matters.. if you sin as a result of the pain. It is sin that blocks us from having a relationship with Father God... He cannot tolerate sin in His presence (or out of His presence either). So, to have a personal relationship with us, one where we can be with Him in His presence forever, that sin had to be dealt with and taken out of the way. And this is what Jesus sacrifice has done. This is what all the sacrifices of the Old Testament forshadowed. They all pointed towards Jesus sacrifice on the cross and teach us what it is He accomplished on our behalf on the cross.

I hope this helps a little...

The WHOLE WORLD died with Him-hehe

1 John 2:2
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

2 Corinthians 5:14
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died;

The whole world lies forgiven, but Lifeless!
We ALL need the Life of Jesus, for apart from His Life we are dead to God and alive to sin!!!

as far as feeling pain..

I believe Jesus Lives in me!
Not only did He feel pain back then, but now too, in and through me!

Sometimes it's a pain brought on by bad choice, other times the pain is inflicted up Him in me by God!

For it's through suffering that His Life is refined in us!
It's through suffering we get to witness the Life of Jesus in us!

God's Word does not tell us that we will have no pain while here on earth.

Jesus' death on the cross has taken away the eternal consequences (hell) for my sin.

Some people still carry a load of mental or emotional pain because they have never been pardoned by the sacrifical death of Christ. His death was a sacrifice that only made an atonement possible. People live and die under the penalty for sin all the time thinking that Christ's death set everything straight, but it only provided for a potential pardon that would set man's guilt straight given it were received. When the blood of the sacrifice was applied to a penitant sinner, then an atonement resulted which actually removed the guilt factor from the applicant. This precious blood of Christ must be accepted or it will do no adult man or woman any good. Then, even if one is pardoned by this expiatory sacrificial death, they still may feel the pain of parental chastisment from the Lord, now their heavenly Father and no longer their dreaded enemy. When He forgives a sinner for his or her sin, this pardon treats with the guilt of sin and not the practice of sin. If we continue to allow for the practice of sin in our lives, God the Father will eventually chastise us for it, but this must be considered as an evidence of a family relationship and not a bad sign at all, rather a good but painful indication. He is purging the presence of sin out of the lives of His children, which children have already been released from the guilt of those sins.

"For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights." Proverbs 3:12 -
