Consider:
A person who is moral, for reasons of irony, cannot help but make a quip about the truth.
It is said that whenever anyone emigrates across the Tasman from New Zealand to Australia the average IQ of both countries increases.
morality is subjective. what i believe is good and what i believe is bad doesn't matter to anyone else but me. is it important that I have an understanding of what is good and bad? of course it is, but this is all on my own terms.
proper may to me involve worship or as christians put it to know love and serve whichbis a similar idea. it depends on how you conceive of mans essence as to whether you agree in this teleological definition. but its quite conceivable tgat we and our evaluational psychic continuums evolved.Morality (from the Latin moralitas "manner, character, proper behavior") is the differentiation of intentions, decisions, and actions between those that are good (or right) and those that are bad (or wrong). - wikipedia
no where does it mention god.
Yes dear; Some tea perhaps?Ah! That's it: irony.
Irony is your reason to be moral.
Isn't it ironic, that you were slime and then you were snake?
Isn't it ironic, that you were snake and then you were man?
Isn't it ironic, that you were man and then you became a god?
I see now that your understanding of a moral act, is the exercise of the most possible irony:
Isn't it ironic that you believe in survival of the fittest, but you are still moral?
So much hinging on irony. If you did not make a point of assembling examples of irony, you would look foolish
AND LOOK I HAVE DONE IT FOR YOU!
Isn't it ironic that some guy called you an animal, and you still helped an old lady cross the street?
Isn't it ironic that your mates all believe in animism, and you still did the best you could in your job?
Isn't it ironic...
Gottservant said:Hey just curious here: you are still... happy to go in the other direction and say "Evolution does not ratify any moral behaviour whatsoever"? I just realized that leaving out the word "ratify" is changing the [subtext] of "Evolution is true" to "Evolution is true so we can do anything" from "Evolution is true, but it doesn't ratify any particular behaviour"...
I can develop a morality around what to do if nothing is ratified, if that is what you want. As in, assuming you discount the significance of "irony" (morally speaking) because you doubt the value of identifying "moral absence" as "fantasy" in the context of story (which Evolution is, because it relates to the Past).
You can't say neither, understand, or I will just rebuff you as meaningless and any kind of leadership you try to associate with it.
The problem lies with the definition of "moral," which has been atheized.
Morals deals with mans' relationship to God, whereas ethics deals with mans' relationship to his fellow man.
Our population would be higher too, wouldn't it?It's a good thing morals have been "atheized" [], otherwise we'd still be stuck with the morals of an ancient, bronze age, goat herding culture that thinks it important to describe what kind of fabrics shouldn't be used together, but somehow forgot to abolish slavery.
but somehow forgot to abolish slavery.
Some people have a need to bow to some supreme authority but I personally prefer to keep to the beliefs of my ancestors and bow to no one!"This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings; yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from the Lord. But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish.
These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravityfor people are slaves to whatever has mastered them. If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: A dog returns to its vomit, and, A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud. (2 Peter 2:10-12, 17-22)
