I think Christians can be models too

I think I'm decently attractive. Not to toot my own horn, but I think I look good sometimes.

I wanted to become a model as well as a rapper as you could tell from my recent posting. I think that I could help my family and friends out financially by becoming a model as I heard it would be good pay. But this lady says otherwise, that it is vanity and such.

I'll be honest, at the beginning, I'll be tempted to let it go to my head and be consumed by pride. But I'll always praise God for giving me this opportunity to model if I get the chance and use my platform to preach, but I guess I can't now.

And Michie, if you see this, I know that you call them kooks and crazies, but the way they speak kind of draws me into their traps, I don't know why

Remmeber this is just the opinion of one Christian. she is speaking her opinion, not the Holy Spirit's or The bible's. Just her own.

Having said that, if modelling would lead to sin eg pride then it would be wise to give it up or not get into it.

what is God tellling you to do? model? preach? or not?

BTW, why cannot you preach? You say you can't preach- why ever not? we can sll share the Gospel even if we are not preachers in a church.

I would be very careful with this particular woman- some of her videos seem Godly but she also wrong about some things. For example she posted avideo some years back saying God had told her all Christians who take psychiatric medications will go to hell. there i sno such scripture in the Bible which suggests this is truth. so be careful- she may be making it up as she goes along!

The modeling industry, like film and acting, is a horrifying place to work where you will face a barrage of attacks on your morality and faith on a daily basis. It’s nearly impossible to work in those industries and maintain a strong walk with God. My Christian wife had the same perspective as you that she would be a light for Christ in the acting community. Two years later she had an affair with a guy from acting, divorced me and is now an atheist.

you can either dip your foot into that world and hope for the best and likely be destroyed or avoid it.

Like many other things in life, this activity could be the cause of vanity...or not at all. It's more a matter of the mindset of the person.

Some people who have little in the way of beauty or talent think they're the greatest thing on two legs even though it's a delusion. Other people who actually are endowed with grace, talent, whatever, never let it go to their heads. It's about you more than the profession.

Yeah, that wasn't all that helpful on my part, I can do better.

I would say focus on the kingdom, first. Modeling and rapping aren't inherently bad. It's just doing it with the right heart that counts. Seeking to embody the way of Christ, by grace and the Spirit, puts the heart in the right place so that virtually anything can be done to the glory of God.

Maybe it's a good time to put these secondary concerns to the side until you feel confident about being in the right place? If it's God's will, you'll come back to it ready to roll! I support you.

The fashion and music industries are endowed with heavy spiritual assignments and snares. You need to be rooted in the word and the Lord.

If you are beset with anxieties over videos how will you deal with the pressures and demands from each? You seem very influenced by outside opinions. That’s an avenue for manipulation and exploitation in the wrong hands.

amen! you need to get well first. work on your mental and emotional health. then you can deal with the other things. which may not be issues at all because God may call you into something other than modelling. who knows?

I have a calling to fashion and answered this question in the past. But I neglected to do so for this reason:

Two months ago the OP believed he was Moses. Since that point, numerous threads were created featuring videos about Christian behavior that were questioned or taken to heart.

The Spirit of God doesn’t behave like that. It isn’t the author of confusion or deception. He doesn’t have you fluttering here and there like a bumble bee. Unrest is not of Him.
