Really? Conflict doesn't mean evil? Ever read Genesis 3? I think that conflict was evil don't you? At least God called it that.Thank you for your post. Conflict or disagreement does NOT connotate 'evil'.
Is there any conflict in your church? Have you ever experienced growth through a disagreement (even where both parties that disagree grow)? Is that 'evil'?Really? Conflict doesn't mean evil? Ever read Genesis 3? I think that conflict was evil don't you? At least God called it that.
That's one way to look at it. Have you ever considered the fact that you may be wrong?
You see ONLY Adventism as being the truth, which means ALL other denominations and belief systems are wrong. Just think for a minute about what you believe! Think about the implications of what you believe. And in the end it is ONLY SDA's who stick with traditional/historic SDA beliefs that are the one's being 'persecuted'. It's a vain position to take. You demonize all others and judge them, all the while maintaining that you are the ONLY 'true church'. Amazing!
Your words are all I have to go by. It was merely a response to what you had said.Talk about amazing, I try to cousel a brother on not taking the venom on this forum personally and you make statements about me and adventism.
I didn't claim it was directed at one person.JL said:Please go back and re-read what I posted I wasn't demonizing any one person only the venom that seems to flow here.
It was clear what you said:JL said:Christ and His love will not promote the invective rhetoric you see here. If it's me or anyone else putting out the kind of vitriol that we sometimes see then it's the enemy that is responsible for that. Satan loves to see this kind of stuff and he or his demons will influence us to be this way every chance they get.
Which is why I commented. IOW, all other Christian groups are not the 'true church' (condemnation), and when they disagree with the 'true church' it is with 'venom founded in demonic influence'.JL said:The enemy will work harder in the true church than anywhere else. Just calm down and witness the truth as you know it . Realize the venom that gets thrown around here is founded in demonic influence.
Huh? I've been gone for 10 days on vacation and just got back. I make many posts on different forums every day and a very few to you. You say a lot more than I respond to. I guess it's all a matter of perspective.JL said:We need to be mindful of that and not take all of this personally, that is all I was trying to say. Seems to me you are really sitting by and just waiting to jump on anything I say.
I take NONE of this personally. How could I? Besides, if we took everything said here personally we'd all be depressed.JL said:Thats ok, I guess but you need to realize what that actually does to your credibility.
Then praise God the 'true church' is made up of all who believe in Jesus for their salvation. They are the body (you and me) and Christ is the head.JL said:God Bless

p.s. I could care less about adventism per se'. That title means nothing to me. The truth is what is important to me. I found this church by searching for the truth. If I could find a church that stays closer to the truth than the SDA church does I would go there.
Free--can I ask you a question?Your words are all I have to go by. It was merely a response to what you had said.

Credibility? LOL! I've been declared a heretic by some here for following the Holy Spirit out of Adventism. I've been accused of making excuses to try and 'wilfully' sin more (an unfounded accusation denying the power of the Spirit of Christ living IN the believer). Some have judged my heart (as if that were possible) and declared me to not even be a Christian. I've been called a friend of Satan, all while lifting up salvation in Christ alone confirmed by the Holy Spirit (God himself) living IN the believer! I've learned that SDA's aren't too kind to SDA pastors who step down for ethical and doctrinal reasons. I get the impression they would rather we just stick it out and maintain the status quo. (I'd love to share some of my hate mail with you. If you want a definition of vitriol hatred I've got it for you! And from some who seemed to be such loving and caring people.)

the lord told me 2 years ago "I was not going to be an SDA any longer " At the time I dismissed the comment. I had no desire to leave. still don't. but I can't find a way to resolve the prophetic issues then I guess I have to leave.Free--can I ask you a question?
You said that the Holy Spirit lead you out of Adventism--where could you possibly go after Adventism? Just curious!
young one there is no way to convince one that something is true that is not true.Well, I don't think there's any convincing him, I think he's already gone. Yet if he had stayed a bit, he would probrably of left considering this thread turned in to an argument. The very reason heleft anyone!

After 10 years of pastoring in the SDA church I was convicted in the depths of my soul that there were things about Adventism that I could no longer in good conscience represent, teach, or believe. And I wasn't anywhere near looking for a way out. I loved being an SDA! We were 'special', and we were just 'right'.Free--can I ask you a question?

Where do you go after Adventism? My identity and value are drawn from Christ alone. I am a Christ-ian, and I am a part of the body of Christ with Him as the head. I am free to worship with all others who carry the name of Christ and have been saved by the work of Christ on their behalf (by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone). Where did I go? He is IN me and I am IN Him! His Spirit produces His good works and His fruit in me (my works are filthy).
I know you're looking for another denominational identity, but I do not have one or claim one (although, my name is still on the SDA books). (True) Christianity transcends the dividing lines of denominationalism where, for the most part, each one feels they have a 'better' version than the next, and each one, for the most part, feels their version is the 'most Biblical'.
The Bible has already defined the 'perfect church'. It is made up of all who believe in Jesus for their salvation, and we are called the body. Jesus is the head. We are united by God who lives in us through the Spirit of Christ. It's all about Jesus Christ, and when we try to make it about other 'things', it's still ALL about Jesus Christ, who alone is worthy and faithful to his promises. Is there any better identity than that?
wooba's posts have made me think, so he (she?) has done some good. Come back dude. (or girl).
LOL. I at least appreciate the 'amen'. But you ask a loaded question and then want a simple 'yes' or 'no'...?Amen.
Just one question: Do you still keep the Sabbath?
Yes or no thanks.

How about this: I've learned, after being SDA for 35 years, that I never did 'keep the Sabbath HOLY', nor did I keep it as it was commanded to Israel. Like Israel, I never entered the rest, even though I sincerely thought I was keeping it all those years. I would say the 'Sabbath' keeps me. I rest in Christ's finished work on my behalf.
Well--do you worship with other ppl? And if so, who may I ask. After 10 years of pastoring in the SDA church I was convicted in the depths of my soul that there were things about Adventism that I could no longer in good conscience represent, teach, or believe.
