EXCELLENT post!!! Especially with the LITERAL SACRAFICES!!! Luv..it....Better go give your sacrifice then Der Alter. Because the Bible never LITERALLY says to stop giving sacrifices so they must still be required. Then you better go stone some homosexuals or else you'll be guilty of not giving out God's punishment.
Der Alter, you can't say "DON'T PICK AND CHOOSE" and then say certain things "aren't necessary" or are "just Jewish tradition". That's called picking and choosing. Hypocrisy, as far as I'm concerned, is a greater sin than homosexuality.
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
1 Timothy 3:1-5
Jesus is the Word of God
No Bible= No Jesus
Great post!!!Quite the opposite love.
Jesus was the Living Word. That should be read as:
No Jesus = No Bible.
Because I assure you, Christ doesn't NEED the Bible to exist. Humans just need the Bible for Christ to exist. It comes with being simple minded beings.
The Bible is very important to me. I doubt however that it was meant to be used to condemn people.Quite the opposite love.

Does God change? I don't know. I do know he intended things to go one way until Adam and Eve fell from grace. Did he intend them to? I don't think so. He had to send His Son to fix that.
He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah (sp?). Did He plan to do that when He created the world. I doubt that too. It shows to me that God is an ever changing God that shouldn't be put into a box as if we fully understand Him.
While trying not to offend anyone, I would like to find some answers. At this very moment, I'm taking no side in this issue - I just want to know what the truth is.
Please read the following verses (I've linked them to BibleGateway.com in the NIV version) and tell me what you think. I want to know the truth of the matter. Feel free to post your own verses.
Romans 1:24-28
Jude 1:7
Matt. 19:4-6 (This may be arguable by some of you - I'm just wondering about how the Bible never mentions that two women or two men "become one")
1 Corinthians 6:9-20
HiAgain, if some things are wrong, can any of it matter? Can any of it be true? Is the whole book just a fake?
It's all Bible or no Bible. All God or no God. All Christianity or no Christianity. You cannot pick and choose.
I feel sad, StarJewel, because there's nothing I can do, except argue and debate with you, (which probabaly won't do much). But I hope and pray you would realize, like I did, that you cannot pick and choose. I'm not being cheesy (I know it's hard to tell over the internet). I really feel for you...
It's like a car. Without one part (like the steering wheel, the brakes, the gasoline, the... you name it!) it won't work right. Christianity is not an all-you-can-eat buffet. It's all or nothing.
"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarmneither hot nor coldI am about to spit you out of my mouth." - Revelation 3:15-16 (That's God talking)
You wanted a reason as to why homosexuality is wrong, apart from the Bible. My honest answer: I don't know. (Perhaps some of those in agreement with me have a reason? *hint**hint*LOL)
Anyway, in Isaiah it says, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the LORD. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts...'"
I know that God has a reason for saying that homosexuality is wrong. Right now I don't know. I hope to find that reason out, either in this life or my soul's life in heaven.
I bet that answer's not good enough for you, and I bet that now you're adding more verses to your "These are the ones I don't believe" list. But I gave it shot. And gave you what I got.
It's all or nothing, my friend. Pick one.
Same old, lame old out-of-context excuses. Got any scriptures to back this up? I didn't think so.. . .Did you know that the Bible allows you to have slaves and beat them as much as you want, as long as the slave doesn't die as a result of you beating him/her, because the slave is nothing more than your property? That's why I don't see the Bible as perfect.... my own reason and conscience tell me that.. . .
The Bible says God doesn't change.
Which obviously doesn't make sense.
The Bible is far too contradictory to be taken at face value. We need to use the heads God gave us (along with the chance to hear Him) if we want to understand it. But people are so afraid to listen to God because they know they'll find their faults in the process. And no one will admit that, but it's true. The Bible, as I've said, it absolutely worthless, unless we read it with God and God's logic in mind: and trust me, God knows how stupid we are, so don't try to say we don't understand God's logic. God's logic may surpass human logic but that doesn't mean He's incapable of using human logic. He'll use it to help us understand.

Pampered christianity is not really christianity at all. When I say "pampered christianity", I mean it's all about love and feeling good, and nothing about commitment through a change of heart.

Jesus is the Word, if we reject the Word, we reject the author and the finisher of our faith, which comes from His Word of truth.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. No Word, No Jesus.
Jesus IS the Word. He was made flesh. He is not separate from nor can He be received or known without His Word. He is the Bread of Life and the Word of Life. If we cut ourself off from His Word, we cut ourselves off from the food that feeds the spirit man. In the Words of Jesus Himself when speaking to enemy of our souls, satan, while on the mountain of temptation, "Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word of God".

HiActually, you're wrong that people can only be either Biblical fundamentalists who follow every single law in the Bible, or not be Christians at all, because there are many Christians who aren't fundamentalists. And not being a fundamentalist doesn't mean that someone's "lukewarm". And everyone picks and chooses. Did you know that the Bible allows you to have slaves and beat them as much as you want, as long as the slave doesn't die as a result of you beating him/her, because the slave is nothing more than your property? Where does the Bible say that God does not change, what is the context? What does it actually say, have you ever read it?
Great post! thanks for it!HiActually, you're wrong that people can only be either Biblical fundamentalists who follow every single law in the Bible, or not be Christians at all, because there are many Christians who aren't fundamentalists. That's why I don't see the Bible as perfect.... my own reason and conscience tell me that. As for homosexuality... as I said, the world needs more love, and people in homosexual relationships love each other just like people in heterosexual relationships do. The research done about homosexuality hasn't found anything harmful about it. So, I just can't be against it... if I was, I'd be against love. And also, for me trying to convince myself that homosexuality is wrong would be like convincing myself that the computer in front of me doesn't exist.
But believing that every single statement in the Bible is true is nothing else than fundamentalism... especially if it contradicts the reality around you. It's like believing that the computer in front of me doesn't exist. When I say "all or nothing". I am not saying "fundamentalist or liberal". I am saying you must believe, and hold to be true, the Bible.
So, in your view, it's "Welcome to Christianity, please leave your brain outside"? Well, blind faith isn't good for me... it's good for cults, not for Christianity.Using your own opinion, your own reason, your own conscience, is screwing it up.
Thanks, I'm glad you like it!Great post! thanks for it!
I guess in your concept of god, note the little "g", god is a liar. You claim the Bible says Gods does not change then you mention contradictions.
There are NO, ZERO, NONE errors or contradictions, in the Bible, which have not been refuted by Bible believing, God believing, Jesus believing Christians.
Where does the Bible say that God does not change, what is the context? What does it actually say, have you ever read it?
But believing that every single statement in the Bible is true is nothing else than fundamentalism... especially if it contradicts the reality around you. It's like believing that the computer in front of me doesn't exist.

Exodus 21:20-21
"If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property"
Well I don't think fundamentalism contradicts science. It's the philosophies of science which it contradicts (naturalism).Well, for one, God is so much bigger and better than the reality around me, and He is outside of space and time and science. He is not confined to the laws of science. He is not confined to our reality of earth and gravity and whatnot.
Sister I must say you are a strong in God's word. Not only that but it reflectsBut when you add the world (what you think instead of what God says), it's not Christianity anymore.
It's like, "Well, I don't think Jesus really did all those miracles, cause that's scientifically impossible. And God really isn't all powerful, cause then he would remove sin and pain from our lives. Oh, and hell really doesn't exist, because God is all-loving and wouldn't send his creations to die in eternal fire..." And then you got whole different religion.
If you don't believe the Bible... then you have to believe yourself, and that's not Christianity at all.
Again, God cannot be put in a box. And He is not confined to the laws of this earth. And we cannot understand him. If we could, He wouldn't be worth praising and worshipping.
