I am struggling with the other side's typical answers on issues.

I would agree there is a lot more socializing at protestant services, but considering the relative shallowness of protestant doctrine (speaking as a former protestant), much less κοινωνία (koinōnia) in the meaning intended Scripturally:

I’m a lifelong Catholic and go to one of the largest parishes in my small city. Don’t know many parishioners, either.

I'm still trying to figure this out. When one side vociferously says faith alone and osas and that anything else is works, but Jesus says that if you want to enter life, keep the commandments, how am I supposed to reconcile the two?
Listen to Jesus through His Church, the Catholic Church.

Really, everything comes back to Authority. All of these issues, including salvation comes back to who is your Authority? So instead of trying to figure out multiple doctrines, start with , how did Jesus provide for The Faith to be passed on?

I have been engaging in small talk with people and trying to look more friendly rather than stoic. I occured to me that I was doing the same thing I accuse everybody else of doing. Maybe I’ll meet more parishioners that way.
so far, I’ve noticed that all have been except I’ve to my friendliness. We don’t have time to socialize, I guess that comes from other church activities but they’ve all look friendly and talkative in return.

correction…..all have been receptive to my friendliness.

My cousin goes to the largest parish in our diocese and I don’t know if shes met friends lately, we don’t talk as often as we used to, but she is very active with decorating the altar, keeping pretty flowers there and whatever else, and I remember that she sounded like she hadn’t made many friends at her church either. She used to talk about the other women who were also decorators for the altar and it sounded like they were crabby old ladies.

I don’t really talk to anyone outside my immediate family. Don’t know anyone here, really.

I’m more of an introvert. I’m much more shy.

My cousin‘s sister moved about 4 years ago and she then started going to the same parish as her sister. They’d go to Mass together and had each other but then she died last September. Which was a total shock to me. She’d been treated for uterine cancer, got the all clear and rang the bell, then a few months later started having severe abdominal pain and her organs started failing. Maybe the cancer spread.

I am too these days. I used to be very outgoing.
I don’t really have any friends at all, just my immediate family. After working in retail for a few years, I’d much rather be alone.

I will pray for her.
Thank you! First she died then about 9 months later my cousin’s husband died of dementia. So she had the death of her sister and husband in less than a year.
