I went to Church at a young age 5-8 (methodist)
I then went to a Brethren Church for Sunday school age 8-10?
Then my parents sent me to an Anglican Church where I spent every Sunday age 10/11 -14
Left home at 15 (almost 16) , began a two year wander in "the wilderness" finally at age 18 went to a week long outreach meetings in a local Methodist Church .... accepted Christ as My Lord and Saviour.
moved a few weeks later to Northampton , went to the only Church I knew (I was an attendant 18 months to 2 years before on a guitar weekend ) a Pentecostal Elim Church. Was Baptised here age 18
about two years later , aged 20 , I came to understand the doctrines of Grace , after hottly rejecting them
Over the next few years I struggled with the Charismatics ...... went to the Jesus People for a while , then started tracking down the remnants of Calvinist church's.
Settled in a house church for a couple of years .then it folded.
Then went to Carey Baptist Church (the old Calvinist William Carey's chapel) where I became a member .
Got very dispondant when members moved away to other towns .
eventually settled into a resignation that I can find no-where to lay my head.
I did visit the chapel about 6 Months ago , it is now run by a women (I told her I don't believe in women ruling in the Church ) ...... I will not be going back.
then , about 18 Months ago , found CF .............. this place has kept me in some sort of semblance of fellowship , even if it not ideal, I thank God for it.
I have discovered that there are many Christians here who for one reason or another are isolated and dispossessed .
who just find "church" too difficult and a real problem ....... I am pleased to meet all such Christians who Love the Lord, yet who cannot find a Church.
