Well, seeing that regardless of religion, most of the planet seem to believe in a higher power of sorts. Whether it be the Christian God, Allah, or "The Force" (which personally, I believe are all the same thing), rather than ask if there was a God (or higher power), I would rather ask "What IS God?"

Now that would be a mindbending answer.

I'm pretty much certain God exists so I think I would ask something more specific.

I'd also ask something more specific. After all, as a child, I had an out of body experience, and stood before Jesus in all His glory. I was never the same after that.

If you obtained a device that would answer absolutely any question with 100% accuracy, would you ask it whether or not God existed?

If no, why not?

No vote for me.

It would be a waste of a question. I already know without a doubt that God is real...seriously.

I would ask it what the Powerball numbers are this Saturday...

No, because I already know that God exists. I find myself in God's presence every time I go to church. I literally have Christ in me when I partake of the Eucharist. You need only look to Christ- (both fully God and fully man) to see God.

No, I have faith now. If I asked this device, I would no longer have faith in God I would have faith in the device. My question to the device would be "What is your favorite color?"
Not "what's this weeks lotto number going to be?"

MY BROTHER,

No--there is no need to because i know, from personal experience and a loving relationship spanning many years, that He exists, and i am sure that the use of a machine to "verify" what i already know about our God would certaintly would sadden Abba as my wife's similar attempt to "verify" my existence would me.

However, i feel such a device would be a great boon to mankind as it would wipe out forever the scourge of atheism and we could finally all become one as Abba's children as we were originally created to be.

According to the poll statistics, I'm the first to vote 'yes'.

I would be terrified, of course, and it might take a long time for me to pluck up the courage for it, but finally that tiny little spark of doubt in the back of my mind would get the better of me and I would ask it.

I have faith, of course! I don't think that it's about faith as much as it's about curiousity, and I believe with all of my heart that God exists - there's a small part of my mind, though, that is still left over from my days as an atheist, which I think would convince me to ask. Anyway, I would end up arguing with myself that since God does exist, I have nothing to lose and everything to gain by solidifying that with something that I can experience with my earthly senses.

Given that such an omniscient device could have been made only by God, and in fact would be an odd representation God, such a question is moot.

So I would rather ask of it something that I truly did not know.
