hey man what'z up? i'm into more of the metal then the hardcore, but there are some very awesome hardcore stuff out there. who's your likings?

SAS is good.....but i also listen to secular so alot of emo bands are giving hardcore a bad name, so when i say i listen to hardcore, all my friends laugh and call me a "emo kid"

i like straight edge metal and hardcore. Good stuff

Maybe like Figure Four. They're so straight edge their crowds/fans at shows are annoying. I mean like straight edge kids, I think that respectable and I've known some really good straight edge guys, but sometimes you get those kids who think they get to judge everybody cuz obivousily they're so darn cool themselves. ...But anways,

Ahh.. the era of screamo has begun. I think a lot of hXc kids these days say hardcore/metal. I would fig if you say punk that'd make you just about as much of a pansy as screamo itself, but then again that's only cuz punk has gone soft too. Well anyways, no need to bring up sad issuses.

i find it funny listening to a lot of the reviews of styles here, hehe.

i must say tho, i do agree about the straightedge kids really getting on the nerves. it's cool if someone doesn't smoke cigarettes, or doesn't drink alcohol or doesn't do drugs, but to go down people's throats because they smoke cigarettes or they struggle with addictions is just really unnerving (that is the PC/PG way of putting it.)

yea i kind of agree with people that have said about the styles. i will admit that i am one hundred percent in agreeance with punk going soft. which in of itself is fine with me. meaning punk musicians or bands going soft. they can do what they want, but call what it what it is. if it isn't punk anymore that's cool. if it is pop-punk, then call it that, it is only rock then call it that. that's the only complaint i have with some of these "punk" band, i'm more into metal anyways.

i may be into metal a lot, but there are some screamo bands that i do like. i think hey that's their style and they do it good and there is some stuff i like out there in the screamo genre. but at the end of the day, nothing gets me going more than awesome breakdowns, fast riffs, awesome solos, and awesome voicing ranging from beautiful singing to beautiful screaming, haha, and REAL double bass drumming.

the hardcore side is cool, but some of the band, i am sorry, just get really old and redundant. but i'm sure it gets that way with metal so i am not trying diss the hardcore scene. there are some good acts out there though that are just awesome. Eso Charis, one of my favorite hardcore bands. just simply amazing in my opinion. LikeDvid, Strongarm, Focal Point, Figure Four, No Innocent Victim(NIV) are some examples of hardcore Christian bands i like.

but again, at the end of the day, and at the end of this thread, i'm a metal head

Hey further. Glad to see someone on these boards knows what GOOD music is.

I just got home from a Dillinger Escape Plan show. Zao was one of the opening bands. Zao did really well. Their new drummer isn't anywhere near as good as Jesse Smith was though, other than that they were great. Dillinger Escape Plan blew them out of the water talent-wise, but Zao was the more enjoyable set. They started out with the first song from Blood and Fire....it was so good. It brought back a ton of memories. I wanted to get down in the mosh pit but I was stuck on the side in a chair because of some physical problems....but when I get healed I'm tracking Zao down and moshing my heart out.

If u like some kinda old-school hxc you'd try COmeback Kid. Pretty good stuff. But it's pretty hard to find good CHRISTIAN old-school. Everything around goes emo and metalcore. Yeah it's fine too, but sometime soul is seeking for hxc u know like Black Flag, Circle Jercks. =)
