Well, as I'm a new member and this forum appears to be the welcome wagon, I just wanted to extent my howdy and hello to all y'all out there. I've known of Christ all my life, but really didnt find Him until I was an adolecent. This after many trials and tribulations I have worked through, and some I'm still recovering from. I have since been a youth pastor and worship leader for various churches; I currently teach for a living.
I have served God in the mission field for about 10 years during the summer on various mission trips. It's been awesome to travel to other places to share the love I found admid what some might consider hopeless circumstances. Nothing is more God than seeing the eyes of hope come from hopelessness by the world's standards. Most recently, I had the opportunity to share that hope with the orphans of Russia. In a place of bitter cold and being an outcast of society through no fault of thier own, many of these children find hope in God and a larger and better family than they could have ever hoped for on Earth. Thier Father is the creater of the universe, and they are now my brothers and sisters. What a cool concept to know that faith can see people through the worst of circumstances. To have expereinced James 1:27:
James 1
27Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
WOW! I hope and pray everyone can expereince something like this. I've read much of it here. I look forward to more involvement and many discussions. WIth some of you at 10,000 posts, sheesh! I'll do my best to catch up. Blessings to all of you!
