I saw you read this many times recently, I think.... what did you or what do you think about this ? :
1 Corinthians 3 Expanded Bible (EXB)

Following People Is Wrong
3 Brothers and sisters, in the past I could not talk to you as I talk to ·spiritual people [or people who have the Spirit]. I had to talk to you as I would to ·people without the Spirit [unspiritual/carnal/fleshly people]—·babies [infants] in Christ. 2 ·The teaching I gave you was like milk [L I gave you milk to drink], not solid food, because you were not yet able to take solid food [C the comparison is between basic and advanced teaching]. And even now you are not ready.

What would you say are the foundational principles of being a real Christian? And how does that apply in your everyday, modern life?
Solomon said after much talk about the purpose of our lives:

Ecc 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Become a member of the Body of Christ.....therein you will be untouchable ....sealed and secure forever.....simply believe 1cor15:1-4 and salvation is promised....
Don’t add to it or Christ will be of no benefit to you.....Anything beyond faith plus nothing is an addition to the Gospel....beware of legalists

I would start with the two great commandments, that you love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself (Matt 22:34-40). There are other commandments which help define these two.

Perhaps the most fundamental attitude, trusting in God's grace in light of our sinfulness. The most fundamental and essential Christian character quality is humility. Second to trusting God is an attitude of subordination to Jesus as Lord.

@dreadnought pretty much said it. Focus daily on the living person Jesus who hears your prayers, helps you with problems, who was familiar with suffering, and who is your brother, friend, father, and God. Get to know him through the Bible, and learn how to use the Bible to find out what God said about situations you face (which he has given us purely for our long-term benefit). Talk with him through your day. Express your confusion to him and ask him questions. Connect with other Christians, spend time with them. Connect with more spiritually mature ones to help you interpret Scripture and pray for you.
