How to See spiritual visions

Having dreams and visions is a gift of the spirit. Not everyone has this gift, we do not will this to happen. They are given to build up and edify the body of Christ not to entertain us. One should ask the question has what I just seen going to help anyone, will it uplift others, help someone in their walk with the Lord. Bring them closer to Christ. If not then maybe we need to examine who is the giver of what we are seeing.

I should note, if you know how to divide between right and wrong, you know what is from God. As noted in Hebrews, Christians who have gone beyond milk have become practiced in doing good and so can well judge.

As noted in Corinthians, we will judge even the angels. We are quite capable of judging such things.

Not every prophecy might be seen as uplifting to people. The Scriptures are full of such prophecy. Had you had a prophecy predicting 9/11, many people might have scorned you for preaching against the Islamists. But, once that came true, then that would be strengthening to people.

Things from God are very good, however. Unfortunately, the listeners are not always in a place to judge the great goodness of the Lord.

The Light is something those without it are incapable of comprehending.

There is an older fellow that goes to 2 services in different churches the same as me.He is very spirit filled, and a father figure in both congregations.I love this man deeply, as do pretty much all those who know him.When we meet at church and embrace in greeting its such a wonderfull feeling that passes over me.Hes just an average old guy90-something now and still going strong,though his wife has passed on.I have a hard time trying to describe this, but you can feel the spirit in him,and he is very strong in the Lord.His testimony always moves the congregation should he share with us,and his unbounded joy is infectious enough to lift the lowliest of spirits.When i stand near this fellow during the worship service, and we sing together,my whole body begins to feel lighter.my heart is gladened, and the world retreats to the outside of the chapel doors where it belongs.as we continue in praise and worship, i begin to get the distict feeling that i am not standing on the ground.It is a disembodied sort of floating bliss.I know this individual is connected in some way that i am not ,and i am sure that it is his presence that that calms my psyche enough to experience this place of peace and joy, where he seems to be most of the time.Nothing seems to put him off or make him angry, all of us just naturally go to him with our cares and woes..I see others walk up to him at church looking troubled, and after a few minutes communing with him walk away smiling.Hes just a guy, not overly educated or trained to do this.It just happens when he is around.I know this man is close to God, and i am more than grateful to God for arranging for him to be part of my life.I am sad that my discription does the man no justice, for the read back sounds pale to what im trying to express.This is what i mean by proximity, to someone making you feel like you are flying.It is but a poor discription at best, because the intensity of it can be most overwhelming.

I totally know what you're talking about. It's related to the choices he makes to keep in tune with the spirit of God, carrying His anointing. I've had times on worship team when everything was going wrong, then someone walked in the door who I knew had been praying--I could feel it through the crowd-- and relief swept over me.

It's a reminder to me that we are all called to carry this anointing, because it is powerful in solving others' problems and lightening their loads. It's not about being known as the spiritual one, but about bringing God mightily into every situation. People like this build our faith that He wants to work even more for us.

A woman used to walk through the Sunday school rooms every week in a traditional church--I knew she came through to pray, because the kids would settle the second she walked in the door. She would smile sweetly and say, "I just love to visit." But we knew. And really appreciated it!

A number of times, I have run into spirits that have not witnessed that "Jesus is Lord"! There have been times in dreams when this has happen. I have trained my subconscious mind to begin to plead the blood of Jesus at every hint of a spiritual experience while dreaming, and on a number of occasions, I have caught demons attempting to infiltrate! Usually you will experience a choking, suffocating, fear, or confused feeling. You may experience this while pleading the blood of Jesus or while trying to say the name of Jesus in you mind while dreaming. This is not you that is suffering! This is what the demon is experiencing as you commune the blood and name of Jesus to them! The demon will realize the big mistake it has made, and will always flee when the name of Jesus and blood of Jesus is brought forth and communed. Evil spirits hate these beliefs, and will get away from you as fast as possible!

That is incredibly fascinating to me because just recently, my sister and I had this conversation. She and I both have experienced this very thing in our dreams for many years. Neither one of us knew that the other one was experiencing this until about a month ago!
What do you make of that?

Wow, this is very facinating, though at the same time it confuses me, whenever I think about this type of thing, I always think of like .. hm, superstition, in a bad way. I've read the part of what you quoted form the bible, but, Oh, I don't know, I think it just, freaks me out a bit. It makes me want to go kay in bed, and try and make myself dream that, but I KNOW of course, that I am in noway spiritually ready for that type of thing, nor, should i even try to, its something that, if it happens, it happens, by God's means only. So, yeah, I htink I'll bookmark this, and re-read it, it really is a uncomprehendable though.

One night, after reading Psalm 4:8 (in my sig), I asked God to give me dreams. Any dreams, fun dreams, prophetic dreams, even nightmares. I fell asleep and I had a dream where some friends and I found this bottled liquid. Each of us grabbed a bottle and took a sip. It tasted like sparkling grape juice. However, after we took a sip the water changed color. It changed to very vibrant colors like pink and bright blue and it looked like it had glitter in it.

The context of the verse is that the experiences will be universal.

Actually I think if you will look at the real context of the verse you will see something differnet lets start in verse 12

Act 2:12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
Act 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
Act 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
Act 2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day.

This next verse is important so don't miss it

Act 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Act 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
Act 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
Act 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I trully don't think it is scriptural to to claim that verse for today since it clearly says that it was fullied then Remember the devil loves to decieve with sight and often appears as and angel of light2Cr 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. But we walk by faith not by sight. 2Cor 5:7 God bless.
