I have been given two Dutch Sheets books about prayer and will begin reading them soon.
I am also bothered by "sermon prayers". Speak and admonish one another in songs and hymns and spiritual songs it the instruction in Colossians. Prayer is to God. We should not pray to our fellow Christians.
I agree paying the bible is important. Then one can know that what one is praying is in agreement with God.
