How long before we see a demand for a book burning?

I'm sadly, stuck in Brooklyn, N.Y. but their main library Has an app for checking out books using an e-reader. I've read more books in the past year than I can recall in a long time.
All the signs are pointing to a more authoritarian government, especially, once my generation,(ok boomer), passes from wielding power. Safe spaces and time outs, shouting at the sky.... is just really weak sauce in this world full of danger for any nation.

The totalitarians have thrown off the restraints that previously protected our freedoms, but since nothing much happened to them when they took the first steps in that direction, the likelihood is that they will not be hesitant to take the next steps.

They'll be especially quick about taking their next steps if they believe there's anything coming that could get in their way, such as the 2022 election. If they want to get their totalitarian activities done, they'll make sure to do it before then.

A couple of years ago, I started going to Half Price Books and buying books to put together a Christian library. Most of my library consists of various types of Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, concordances, word studies and references. I had always wanted a library and now I have one. I highly recommend both physical and digital libraries. I have both, which I find very useful.

Aldebaran brought up a valid point. "Book burning" has been happening for some time. The removal of the Ten Commandments from schools and institutions. The altering and banning of books has been ongoing. I highly doubt it will come to physical book burning. Even if it did, it's possible to hide a USB drive anywhere and retrieve it later.

The Bible is available in abundance. It would be a huge undertaking to eradicate it completely. They would have to go door-to-door and they still wouldn't get them all. The internet would have to be shut down to stop digital distribution. God wouldn't allow it to happen. Remember, the Gospel has to go to the world before the end comes (Matthew 24:14).

The other aspect of "burning" that hasn't been discussed yet is the infiltration of Satan into the church. Book burning, especially Christian books, would be like shooting himself in the foot. The prophesied apostasy (2 Timothy 4:1-3; 2 Thessalonians 2:3) would not be able to take place.

Censorship will likely continue, but I believe the word of God will endure until the appointed time when the Holy Spirit will be withdrawn (2 Thessalonians 2:7).

Yeah that's been a concerning act for awhile
it really is going to be LGBT that sparks widespread discrimination against Christians.

I do not see this as quite similar to my thread as you mentioned, but mkay, I can reply. The demand for bookburning has long been pushed for. And you do have new socalled hatecrimelaws, that burns books before they are printed, illegal to publish. You cannot write your christian view on homosexuality with your own words anymore, your editor will have to modify it to avoid lawsuits, so you cannot word it as you intended. And how about printinghouses stops printing some classics? Wasn't there something about Mark Twain being racist? Think there was something about dr Zeus also. What can you say whenthe classics are erased. Bookburning in progress, and the push only gets stronger. Meanwhile, I observe and wonder when peoplewill fight back and the resistence win. Good luck

Oh it's not even really the politicians and government. In fact, the way our federal government is structured actually kind of slows down decay. Change comes slowly, and it usually has to go through several states and other countries first before it goes to federal level in the US. It's all the intentionally designed gridlock.
But the federal government is always a good 10-20 years behind the prevailing culture in the country. The federal government only made gay marriage a thing nationwide in 2015, but states had been legalizing it since the late 90's, and popular culture had wanted it legalized since the early 90's if not sooner.
Within the states there is push and pushback. some states pushing for laws to let children go on puberty blockers without parents permission while other states pushback with laws banning puberty blockers for people under a specific age. It'll take years for the federal government to make a nationwide law or ruling in regards to it (and it will inevitably be in favor of putting kids on HRT, that is the way the world is going and it is calling evil good and good evil, and will be the reason to start persecuting Christians on a national level)

The main point of Fahrenheit 451 was that people will choose bland entertainment over deep thinking, and therefore they become easy to manipulate.
I see it is a very prophetic book in that way.

True. The writer of Fahrenheit 451 did say that his book was not mainly about censorship. It goes deeper than that.
Personally I think many have forgotten what it was that made America great. They want security over everything else. Freedom no longer matters to them. And that's why they cannot even understand what we are complaining about.

I think they understand. That's why they mock it. They'll say, "All you care about is Free dum"!, but I have to wonder how they'd feel if they suddenly found themselves on the inside of a jail cell indefinately with no legal representation because they used an approved word, or dared to speak against to speak against their government (and didn't have kamala harris to bail them out).

I should have mentioned the Copyright date. 1961. I didn't find this book as exciting as the others mentioned, but I still enjoyed it. The story opens with a type of monastery that is more of a refuge for travelers more than anything else. Everyone is in the midst of a dark age due to a nuclear holocaust centuries previous.

I firmly believe if Christians witness an event like this, severe persecution, meaning bloodletting, is very near.

I disagree.
What I believe is that the adversary will want to change the word of God, it’s easy when using digital word of God.
I recommend highly that every christian will keep as many bible as they can and share them with others.
If/when digital word of God is changed you still have real bible in your hands.
