Hi FundiMentalist,

Anyhow, as to your question one has to repent of your sin, ask for forgiveness from God and acknowledge God as your saviour. Those are the most important parts, there are others too such as baptism for example.

Dear FundiMentalist. By accepting the Grace of Jesus Christ and follow Him back to God. What do we have to do? This isn't an "idea" but this is the truth and how it is like the law of gravity. When one prays ask Jesus into their life as their personal Lord and Savior and repent of their sins, then God will save them by His grace. They will never have a relationship with God and will be separated from God until one does this.

Its like a man is drowning and a person gives him the golden stick to help him, but he wants to swim 20 feet away to get another one. He ends up drowning awhile he is doing this. The golden stick is Christ but people look to the world (temporary things) and swim 20 feet away and the world can't save them because the world is fallen spiritually.

I already have sent you information of the validity of the Bible. Its not a bunch of ideas - it has hundreds of detailed prophesies in it that have come true and more to come.

Firstly one must ask, what does "saved" mean?

It means delivered. But from what to what?
In the Old Testament they were delivered from oppressors and oppressive situations. In the New it is deliverance from a state of separation from God, being "in the flesh" to being united with God, who is a Spirit, the Holy Spirit.

Therefore:-

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour" (Titus 3:5-6)

That shedding on of the Holy Spirit began at Pentecost:-
"they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance . . .Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear ... the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." (Acts 2:4, 33, 39)

That's receiving New Testament salvation.

Water baptism is also commanded as the amswer of a good conscience towards God . . . since Adam, man has had a contract with death . . that contract must be fulfillled so God made Jesus sin for us, we identify with our need for his death by being baptised unto his death.

You don't follow church leaders... they are there to lead you to Christ and the bible... if they do not do this they not true leaders.
The bible says in Acts 17:11 that the Thessalonians "searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." - They heard Paul preach, they took it to heart and then they searched the scriptures to prove it? Any Godly pastor or leader will counsel you to do the same.

This is the reason there are so many different religions, we begin following what people say over what the bible says...

BTW to your question... we are saved by grace through faith in Christ jesus.

As my previous post indicated, God will bare witness of himself, his word and the experience of those who stuck to it show that.

Until you accept your need to receive His Spirit as detailed you will never know.

As christians we believe the bible to be divinely inspired... even some people who do not believe necessarily in "christianity" have said it has to be divinely inspired just because of all the prophecies which have been fulfilled from it... the bible has transforming power.

No need to.

Need to know for yourself; which comes thru reading the bible after coming to Christ.

Some do read the bible before Christ for various reasons, but until after Christ, do much of what's written sink in the heart, as while anyone can read and understand the bible, it's the heart change, which comes by coming to Christ and the renewal of one's mind which comes thru the word, bible.

reading and understanding are different than hearing..which is what occurs to us after we come to Christ, we hear what is said, in a way changes our lives..

We can hear just as c.s.lewis came to Christ as he set out to disprove Christianity and thru such saw that Jesus is God and much more and came to Christ, so not sure exactly what it was that struck him, he's a book on it, but obviously before Christ, bible can be read and lead people to Christ.

But the deep things, can not be heard, the renewal of our minds occur until after coming to Christ.

we come to Christ thru the word, either spoken or written, is by hearing..

Salvation comes through Christ.
And it can't be explained, or understood.. simply accepted.
We are saved through the grace of God, because He loves us.

The better question might be, why not?
The bible has transforming power, I have seen it, what other book can do that? I also know of no other book written by multiple authors which does not major errors, contradictions and the like. Yet the bible has none... the bible openly shows the faults and errors of its writers which only divine inspiration would do... if it was humanly written I can be sure some details would be left out and others would have been magnified yet you cna plainly see the sins of its authors such as David... this in my mind is pure proof as men are inherently very selfish.
