How do you deal with an overly sensitive brain?

As long as I can remember since I started my walk with Christ in 2021 I have had a pretty sensitive brain. I have said before to people I wish I could turn my brain off. My issue is my brain will latch onto the most small minuscule things that I'm aware of and magnify them and have me in a mindset if I dont do it the way it should be done then I'm sinning. It's led me to literally just avoiding new information due to the possibility that it will just add another burden to my life. Couple that with the verse in romans about anything not of faith is sin can just make the issue worse. How do I deal and fix this issue? Thanks.

My suggestion: Use something like the Jesus Prayer to keep your mind focused. "Lord Jesus, Son of the living God, have mercy on me." Say it (mentally if possible). Mean it. Live it, and do it over and over until it finds its way into your heart. The mind is the gateway to the heart, and Christians have developed ancient practices to both fulfill the command to pray always and to guard the heart. Not to be overly harsh, just honest, but there's no reason to have an unruly mind when tried and true practices are available. Another thing one can do is to practice the presence of God like Brother Lawrence, and hold an ongoing conversation with God. There are things one can do, and if you are intent on doing them, they will work.

That’s what I do quite often is to hold an ongoing conversation with God. It helps me check things out and hear what is being said and thereby giving time to act. I also take thoughts captive as in 2Cor 10:3-5. It filters out the useless and bad stuff and helps focus on the important thoughts. Pray about it if God will give you that special power over your thoughts.

Make everything about you right with God.
And in your case that is going to take more than
you will be willing to pay or can afford.

Heya.

This is my own story in order to tell here. If you have a hot temper I find that meditation is the best way forward. If you have a cold temper try oral communication. Ultimately you know yourself the best.

God knows us the best. His way is the best way to go. Meditation is the yoga way, unless you’re meditating on scripture. It’s hard to wrangle your flesh and go Gods way and none of us is perfect. Life gets hard and the best way to go is with God. If you’re not having any trials then look out. I pray to understand what’s going on and what to do about it. Get with God get in his presence. When you do you are no longer in the trial. When you go back to your world you may be in it but just a little bit different and refreshed. God is good.

You have to learn to cast those cares onto God. You also have to see yourself more as God sees you though His eyes of love. That is why Paul prayed for the Ephesians to know God's love and the greatness of his power. By magnifying God, you can decrease your own magnification of things. Practically, I think this is down through meditating, confessing and thinking about the word of God. That you can make these thoughts captive in Christ. You need to find the grace of how free God makes you. Freedom to have the ability to serve not the flesh but others around you in love.
I'm thinking God made sensitive people because they have a gift of compassion that is to help with others. Focus more on others rather than yourself is perhaps good advice to also help you break free from the roller coaster of emotions that may hit you during the day.
