Although my home that I was raised in was not a Christian home, all of my extended family are baptist (if they go to church).

well my families idea of going to church was handing us a dollar and sending us on our mery way, i was raised another demon, which btw i though you were talking about something else...lol truley i feel where ever the lord leads me i will go..., oh i need to add my father is an alien and my mother is a good person

I was born into the denomination.
And may die to be honest with you.
But I consider myself non-demonational.
Despite being a Southern Baptist.
All that matters is having Christ as your Savior & Lord.
Into your heart and life.
And following Him in prayer and bible study.

I was born in a very non-Christian home. I came to faith as an adult, and God ended up putting me in the Baptist church.

I chose wasn't spiritual but came to faith in Christ as an adult then chose this denom but it wasn't that quick. I was Pentecostal when I first accepted Christ at the age of 12 and at 13 I promised I would never set foot in a Southern Baptist church because of their view on women pastors. Well, I started going to one and became a member and then moved. A year later I started at Wal-Mart and had a man come through my line who really impressed me, he's been my pastor for about six months now.

The church I have going to now is the one I have been going to since I was around 2-3yrs. old. I have been baptised and married in this church. Now my boys go to it also.

I chose the first one, because none of the others really fit. I was raised a Baptist, but that's not why I'm a Baptist. I believe the Baptist denom teaches the Word of God closer than any other denom, and I've compared and contrasted it with other denoms. So that's why I'm a Baptist.

Seems like I have switched denoms every time I move, but there wasn't an option for that. We chose our church based on the local congregation's characteristics, not the denominational label. All the churches though are very close to the church I was raised in.

My parents were attending a Presbyterian church when I was born, but they left it (don't know why) when I was a toddler.
I was raised in a Grace Brethren church and later a nondenominational one. When we lived abroad and at college I attended Baptist churches.
After I got married we started going to a C&MA church closer to our new home.

I don't know if I evaluated any of those denoms in the light of what I believe, I would actually choose any of those denoms, but I do think the churches I have attended have been good ones. Though I have never deliberately become a member of any of them, probably for that reason.

Born into it. Went away from Organized Religion altogether. When I regained my faith, my husband was not saved. He picked our church one day out of the blue.. it so happened to be this denomination. That was an answer to my prayers, so I believe for the time - this is where God wants me (us). For the most part I agree with it. But I also see the positive in other denominations, not one I agree with 100% yet. I have learned that is not the point! I have been looking elsewhere lately.

None of the above-go to ABC because it's close and we knew another family that goes there. There was a time I wouldn't have stepped into such a liberal church. Not a member there and never will be. Haven't been a member of a denom since I left the mennonite church 10 years ago. Three congregations in three different baptist-ish/protestant churches later and still haven't found what I'm looking for.

I was born into a Mormon family...well on my mom's side anyway. I was raished Mormon. I turned away from being a Mormon when I was 16 but didn't offically announce this to my family until I was 18 because then I had the choice to leave. For years I considered myself an athiest. Then when I was 19, I was invited to church one day by my half-sister who was Baptist. I found God at this point and converted to being a Baptist. Now, I have been looking into the Catholic fiath for some time. Many of my beliefs have changed but I still have certain things I cannot accept like asking the Saints and Mary to interceed in prayer for me. I am beginning to think I don't belong there anymore because I can't accept all thier beliefs. I am seriously thinking of considering myself non-denomational.

You could always go back to the mennonite church.

I was born into Christ in a Pentecostal church. After a few years, we began attending a charismatic non-denominational church and I attended that throughout my time with my family. After that, I attended an Episcopalian church, then back to a non-denominational. For the past 4 years, I've attended Baptist churches. I always seek out a Scripturally based, conservative church. There were things I've disagreed with in each of these churches (disagreed with the focus on tongues in the first few, the pomp and style of taking communion in the Episcopalian, the political focus and TV focus of my later non-denom, and now the preaching against dance and alcohol). But, other than these minor traditions, these churches have had a strong overall exegetical preaching style.

I came to Christ 6 years ago during a Church of God Revival. Was in that denomination until about 6 months ago. Left because of problems w/ the pastor, but still love the denom and the people in that church. Started attending our current church because it was close to the house, it's scripturally based, and they send many missions trips each year. Our children have really benefited from being in a more organized and larger Sunday pre-school program, also.
