Hugh Laurrie is a legend

I'm always concerned; do americans think all english people are either royalty or scum? the buckingham palace and essex accents are the only british accents on american TV. there's cities with no accent at all (like Sheffield) and then theres even wierder ones like Jordie.
I love Joss Whedon, but the short mob guy in the early Firefly episodes realy got on my nerves.

No, when they want someone to be really weird, they have a Jordie accent heh. I think the reason the two accents you mentioned are most popular on American TV is because those are the ones that most Americans can understand. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say they can't understand someone and ask what language they're speaking only to be told it's English.


I saw the most recent one iwth that baby. I thought it was creepy because the baby reached out and grabbed House's hand.

I really wanted to like House, but I think this is one of those shows which is hard to like if you're in that field. The medicine is really, really bad and even though there are interesting diseases presented, the investigative process is totally wrong and sometimes they remarkably screw things up (like assuming chlamydia pneuomonia is an STD). Whenever I try to give it a chance, I spend the hour yelling at the television.

That all said, I like House's character. Does anyone else find Cameron really annoying?

I know what you mean. I'm in the aviation industry - I can't watch shows that focus on aviation - like Wings, or movies like Pushing Tin. All of the things that they get wrong blind out the rest of the story for me.

I love this show. It's absolutely hilarious and has some good drama in it too and really interesting characters. Hugh Laurie is fantastic and House is such a great character. Wilson is probably my second favorite character, I love his friendship with House even though it does seem kind of warped at times.
