Hey guys, this is my first post on these boards, and I have a question about the holocaust. I have always wondered if messianic jews would have been killed in Nazi Germany during the holocaust. I mean we believe in Yeshua (Jesus).

mjterry, even completely assimilated Jews were killed. Many of the Jews who were killed were ones who had converted and were practicing Lutherans. If you were a Jew, or one who tried to protect Jews, you would have been targeted for annihilation. So yes, messianics would have been included.

I beleive they looked for as little as 1/10th Jewish blood

(How that was determined I don't know)
In any event many took great leangths to
hide ANY Jewish herritage.

I never know how to end anything having to do with the holocost
it always makes me so sad

while the 'nt' was used to justify hitlers actions (see mein kampf) it still did not protect messianic jews.

secular jews, catholic jews, etc... all were hunted like dogs.

Thanks for the correction - I thought it might have been 25% but wasn't too sure. And as has been pointed out it was if you were ethnically Jewish the conversion to 'christianity' would not protect you.

Not only would you have been murdered but your young children would have suffered the same fate.

While there were "rules" for the attempted genocide, even the slightest of rumors could have sent you to the concentration camps. It was not unheard of to have people who were 1/10th, or not even, Jewish be sent to a camp.

i agree that the holocaust was a terrible thing
as was the inquisition
as is the persecution of christians the world over even today
in the eyes of alot of people
we "christians" are quite the danger to them
they are right in that when Christ is brought to the table (so to speak)
all the truth of their hate will be brought to light
of course they will try to destroy the people of the God of Abraham
try as they may.......................
know what i mean?
i don't think being killed would be a good thing no matter the reason
whether you were or were not jew in the holocaust
whether you are or are not christian in this day and age
being killed is the end of ones life
that is a serious thing
and it is our calling to be sure that all know the truth of the saving grace of our Lord and God and that saving grace is Jesus

Yes Christians and jews had both been slaughtered like cattle for a long time. Actually, people of all religion had been murdered for their religions the world over.
But the systematic weeding out of a race for both racial and religious reasons the world over is something quite unique to the Jews.
Words like pogroms, genocide, ghettos and redefinition of the word holocaust is unfortunately due to the fact that there is a maliciousness at work against the Jewish people.

Just to clarify, I am not trying to diminish the atrocities that has happened to the Jews. I just have never heard how many people died that were both Jews and Christians. The statement has been made to me before that Hitler sought to eradicate Christianity just as well, but I have never seen any hard data on it. That's why I ask.

I have been sort of thinking and praying about this thread all night.

I know it's probably really important and interesting information
to know about the statistics of the Holocost. I want to talk about something even more important though.

You know how many was too many to loose their life for the sake of racial purity?

Your question reguarding whether MJ's would be executed etc...Frankly we're not talking about people who were following the teachings of Yeshua or living as He did.

Anyone can say they are a Christian etc...but when someone participates in such a horrendous horror, is not part of the Yeshua I know!So their agenda was to irradicate the Jews no matter what their beliefs!

oops, i hope you did not think my post was aimed at you. It was not.

I am not familiar with systematic attempts by the nazis to eradicate the christians, although clergyman in germany who refused to support Hitler's usage of christianity to justify his actions against the jews were persecuted.
The numbers for the Jews was around 6 million. But i would imagine the numbers for christian who were murder for religious sake would be very hard to pin down.
What started with Kristallnacht did not end with the fall of berlin. There is a story of a group of auschwitz survivors returning to their homes in poland only to be slaughtered by local poles in another impromtu pogrom. Imagine the effect of this incident on the zionist movement.

But if there is any loud enough claim that Hitler was trying to persue a policy of eradicating christian then its probably the work of history revisionist.
