Not at the $54.00 price tag. IMHO, no game is worth $60.00 (with tax). Considering Gamespot.com gave it higher reviews that D3, I'll probably purchase it when it comes down in price.

As for requirements, about the only I could find, came off of the GameStop.com website.

PC first person shooters are so much better.

Anyway, be blessed guyz, I gotta run and get it right now Lol †

Operating System: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
Processor: 1.2 Ghz processor
RAM: 256 MB of RAM
Video Card: DirectX 7 compatible graphics card
Processor: internet access

1GHz Athlon
544 MB
64MB Radeon 9000

I might be able to squeeze some playability out of it, though it won't be all that pretty. Doom3 was barely playable at 640x480 with everything on low. It will definately have to wait till the price drops some, though.

Soon, hopefully! I'll either be building an AMD-64 gaming system for me and passing my computer to my wife or a dual Athlon-MP system loaded with RAM for me with 2003 Server configured for terminal services. Then setting hers up as a terminal to log into mine and using my current PC as a file server.

I'm probably not getting it.

Money isn't an issue. (I'm not married, you see!)

Comp requirements aren't an issue. (See above)

Time IS an issue. I have more games now than I can play.

Plus, that thing where you have to connect to the internet to activate and play it, just bugs me. They shouldn't do that.

I didn't like the first one as much as most people did, anyway. Too much jumping around in order to solve puzzles. Still, if I brought my comp to work, and hooked it up to the company's 60" plasma monitor, how cool would THAT be?!!

Isn't HL the best selling PC game ever or something? I'm not sure, but I was always debating getting the first one; haven't yet. My roommate it really into HL so of course he pre-ordered the game and picked it up this morning; been at it all day too.

The graphics and physics are no doubt the best to date. Better than any other game I've seen. Not to mention that water; it's about time they made water look like that. Needless to say I'm thoroughly impressed.

However, as OhhJim stated, I have enough games already; far too many in fact. As incredible as HL2 is the last thing I need is to get immersed in another game.

No, because it's on Steam(ing pile of poo), which if you don't realize, means that when Valve inevitably goes under, you will *not* be able to reinstall your game. Yes, even if you bought the retail box.

Don't support companies using practices that will screw you over.

Oh yeah, the $55 retail is another reason I'm not getting it. Started with Doom 3, and now with HL2. If you give in to those prices, the companies will say, "Hey, they can cough up the money, might as well keep jacking up the prices." A year from now, you can say goodbye to the $50 games.

On the flip side of that principle, this is why I don't hesitate buying games from companies like Epic (they release patches that remove the CD checks from their games after a while) or Arenanet (they're making Guild Wars, what is essentially a *free* MMORPG, none of that pay-per-month business, which BTW, is also getting more and more expensive).

Actually no, that would be The Sims. There's something to be said about appealing to both genders (it's only like, the other half of the population )
