Hermeneutics Quiz

It is an interesting quiz, I don't know that it really deals with hermeneutics as much as overall religious philosophy, In any any case I end in the Progressive section.

From going over the survey and the article by the guy who made up the survey it doesn't appear that he understands the difference between the old and new covenant. For instance, the last question about the Sabbath had no answer that I could agree with because it was either Saturday is the Sabbath or Sunday turned into the Sabbath.

In the tatoo example for instance one's view would be considered "liberal" in the way they read the Bible if they selected purity codes in Leviticus are not for Christians again showing no understanding of old and new covenant or what I would consider the proper way to interpret the Bible (old testament through new testament).

I know this is a little quiz and not scientific. The guy only gave it to 20 people to come up with his scoring and they were likely of the same viewpoint as himself which appears to be about "exposing" hypocrisies in the conservative position. That said, I am left wondering why this quiz would be published in the first place. I don't know the magazine or what type of articles they publish, but if this is indicative of what is published then it is not for me

What did you come out with as your answer, that is after taking the quiz did it recognize you as in the category that you think of yourself as being in. That I think is the real test. I will grant that a few had no real good answers but for the purpose it might not have been necessary to have something that everybody could say was their answer.

I did come out in the category I would place myself in, but that doesn't change the flawed nature of the quiz.

Well you will likely find no statistical based evaluation technique without flaws. If it works for its intended purpose flaws may be unimportant.

I would hardly qualify that survey as statistical based due to the extremely small sample size that was developed among his friends, associates, and students only. Based on my training in statistics this survey would fall flat.

Anyone is free to make up their own quiz and assign values to it. I'm just surprised that it was published. It looks like the guy is writing a book too so I guess there are some people who value it.

This will come as a shock to many I know...

I'm a conservative.
