Okay, this seems to be the best place to post this question. I was wondering if you guys can give me tips on how to learn to start trusting God. A little history (if you want to read the whole thing, go to the testimonies and read mine) I grew up in a very abusive home; sexually, physically, mentally, verbally...and my mom and step dad also are heavy into Wicca and Satanism...so my view of God is all weird. I have a very hard time trusting anyone..but a harder time trusting God. Everyone just says to trust Him with a little bit and I will learn to trust bigger stuff...but I can't even seem to do that. i frustrate myself

Ask the Lord to help you to trust him and repent for not trusting him. I had a problem trusting the Lord myself w/ a certain issue, but w/ the Lord's help I overcame it. Also, stay in the word and recieve His extreme love for you. Recieving and understanding how much the Lord loves you will be a big help in trusting the Lord. Stay in prayer too.
also ask the Lord to remove any unbelief in your heart as well.

Have you recieved the Holy Spirit? If not, then that could be the main reason you don't understan the bible. The bible is spiritualy dicerned and you need the Holy Spirit to help you comprehend it. Also, ask the Lord to help you understand the Bible. Praying is a big part of having a relationship w/ the Lord. You really should and need to pray. All prayer is, is talking to the Lord.

what you need to do is take this to the Lord, spend some time (alot of time)alone with God and ask him to help you, he will lead you in the way you need to go. he will speak to you about what to do. when things need to be changed, we take them to the place of prayer, and in the place of prayer, God reforms us. through speaking to us and leading us by his spirit.

cast your cares upon the Lord, for he cares for you. take your troubles to the Lord and leave them there.

seek and a deeper relationship with the Lord, and you will see progress in this issue. the holyspirit is the great physician and counseler.

as we grow into deeper and deeper relationships with the Lord, we learn to tune in to what his spirit is saying to us more and more, and as we do this God speaks to us more and more and through this, God deals with and helps all the issues in our lives.

if we only go to men, we are limited to what men know.
but if we learn to abide in the place of hearing God at all times, we always have unlimited access to the latest thoughts from the throne room of heavon.

about your family,
in that environment, i feel that the Lord would have me tell you, it is imperitave, that you begin to read the holy bible as much as you can, meditate in it day and night as the bible says, so that you will be able to know the truth, and you will not be overtaken and decieved with the darkness that your family has embraced. the devil would snuff you out if he could, and if you do not fill yourself with the true word of God, he can and will. stay close to God in prayer, stay in the bible night and day, find a christian church for a spirtual home.

Godbless you
Lee.

Psalm 142:4 I looked on my right hand and beheld but there was no man that would know me, refuge failed me, no man cared for my soul.

Does that sound familiar? No one really understands. Those things and people that should be a refuge are just part of the problem. Does anyone really care?

Proverbs 18:19 A brother (or sister) offended (hurt, angry) is harder to be won (back) than a strong city (well-defended) and his contentions (reasons, arguments) are like the bars of a castle (my "kingdom").

When someone is hurt often or deeply walls go up. We can get quite elaborate in our wall building. Our "defense system" looks like a castle. We even put bars on the windows to keep the bad out. The problem is that often the bad stays in and the good cannot get in. Our place of safety has become a prison.

Hebrews 4:15a For we have not a high priest (JESUS) which cannot be touched with the feelings (FEELS) of our infirmities (OUR HURTS)......

Not only does the Lord know we hurt.....He KNOWS WHAT WE FEEL.

Betrayal....Jesus knows that.

Seeking love and being rejected....Jesus knows that.

Being misunderstood....Jesus knows that.

Having a trust issue with people....Jesus knows that.

Bams, Jesus knows you better than you know yourself. You have so much to unlearn.

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto Me all ye that labor and are heavy laden (exhausted, emotionally, spiritually) and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me (the more we learn His truth the less grip the lies of our past have on us) for I am meek and lowly in heart (we don't get good enough to come to Jesus, we come just as we are) and ye shall find rest unto your souls (the dark wolf finds a place to rest, a home). For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Religion is hard and complicated and weighs you down. A personal, intimate relationship with Jesus frees yo to truly live and be who you really are.)

Bams, settle in your heart whether you can trust Jesus. It will take courage to open your heart one more time. Listen to what He has to say to you. Don't get His words second hand. Talk to Him. Read the gospels. Get to know Him.

I see your tears
I hear your cries
I know your fears
I understand your whys

And as I came
to comfort and hold
You ran from Me
into the rain and cold

A failure in your eyes
A treasure in mine
You say you've faded
I see you shine

You are weak
but I am strong
Come home, little one,
to where you belong

.....peace.

Hello Brother,

Your question really touched my heart. The best advise is continue to grow in Christ. Christ loves you and wants you to join him and everyone else that will make it into Heaven.

It can be difficult, pray, read the word, and keep focused on him. Keep in touch on the forum. There is many brothers and sisters in Christ that will extend their love for you, show you grace, and speak some wisdom.

Find you a local Church that will take you under their wing and help you grow. Many drug addicts, alcholics, and abused individuals are transformed when they experience the power of the Holy Spirit and the Love of Jesus and fellow saints. The void that was once filled with sin is filled with love, grace, and joy.

We want you to join us in Heaven. It is a journey and tough at times. My favorite verse--I take it everywhere.

In 2 Timothy Where Paul said--" I fought a good fight, I finished my course, and kept the faith. Oh Praise God. I want to Shout!!! I want to dance. I am glad we have a saviour that loved us enough to die for our sins.

Make no mistake Brother--Jesus Christ is alive and well today. The Holy Spirit is alive. I will not find him in a grave. Oh praise God--Think I am going to Shout!!!

Thanks, for your post--Keep your chin up--We love you!!!

God Bless.

well thankyou,
im not trying to be superspiritual or impressive, but i want you to understand that said what i said at the leading and influence of the holyspirit that anyone anywhere at any age can have, and thats why some things i say speak to peoples hearts and cause things to blosom in the spirit.

i know very well how utterly useless, ignorant, and pointless i am without grace and the unction of the holyspirit.
one thing i dont ever want to do ever again, is preach another sermon if the holyspirit ISNT the one speaking through me and helping me, that is a long hard dry dead thing. id rather tell everyone to just go home, because Lee Myers is stupid and could never do anything of worth by himself.

Godbless
Lee Myers.
