  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You have said it in such easy terms. For you can't make a decision on something until you understand what it is.

I think that I am even more confused then before. You say "There is nothing necessarily wrong with following the law". I thought that the Messianic view was that we are supposed to follow the law, not that we "can" follow.

LOL - and thus your first encounter with the conundrum of MJism - it is not a monolithic group and has no universally recognized codified doctrine - the gamut runs from those who strongly believe that all true servants of Yeshua must follow Torah to those who believe just as strongly that they can but are not obligated to follow Torah - most of those who have been or will be long term adherents believe that one who is MJ should at least try to follow as many as they can and to seek to grow in observance every day - BUT *almost* universally MJs understand and believe that Torah observance is an act of Sanctification NOT Justification - we DO (the Law) *because* we ARE (saved and love our L-rd)

Well, I am still doing my studying into your beliefs. I have gone, and am still going through some studies found on Yasha.net and other places. There are compelling arguments for both sides, which makes it very difficult to come to an ultimate conclusion. But I will keep looking and praying for the answer(s). I had hoped to find a messianic congregation in my community but it seems that the ones that I have found, that where pointed out by some of you, are no longer around. So what does a messianic do, if he/she does not have a local congregation? And I was also curious as to how receptive are the messianic Jews to a gentile/ex-protestant coming to their synagogue? It could be my imagination, but I have gotten the feeling on some of the messianic sites, and studies, the there might be some animosity against us gentiles/protestants. Would I really be welcome at one of your synagogues? I could use some prayer for answers from God on this subject. I need insight and wisdom. Thank you J

Only 2 sides usually "where there are 3 Jews there are 4 opinions"
I had hoped to find a messianic congregation in my community but it seems that the ones that I have found, that where pointed out by some of you, are no longer around. So what does a messianic do, if he/she does not have a local congregation?
Some go to churches whose doctrine is not too strongly in conflict with there's and keep a low profile, others feel they can be part of their church community and in the process share a little light within; still others choose to worship at home and online in MB faith communities; still others find their own way... it is nto infrequent that others will move to be connected with a MJ community wher they can study, fellowship and worship Due to demographics world wide, in that gentiles vastly out number Jews everywhere except Israel (for the time being), most MJ congregations have far more Messianic Gentiles than Messianic Jews ...
I could use some prayer for answers from God on this subject. I need insight and wisdom. Thank you J
indeed my brother, you have them
